Can ANYBODY help me with how to wire this fan?! It's a 2 speed fan that needs a controller. I'm not sure how to wire the controller(I haven't purchased one yet). There are only 3 wires, the Black Brown and White. There is supposed to be some "Green/Yellow" wire that's a ground but obviously it's not there. This thing didn't come with instructions to wire it. Please help anybody, this bad boy cost me like $170. Lots of money to me for a fan, for being a noob! Thanks in advance!

Normaly white and black are hot and green is ground so I would assume brown is the ground

Thanks for the responses. So do I not HAVE to use a speed controller? Can I just wire it white to white, black to black/or black to brown? That would be awesome. If I have to use a speed controller, is there a certain size/rating I need? Or what is that cylinder thing for? Does it screw into something, like the controller? I don't get it.
//?

Does your's have that cylinder in it? And a white, black, and brown wire? So you just left the black or brown wire dangling, alond with the cable's ground wire? And what guage wire was the cable you used to wire it with?

I've been looking at these fans, that round thing is a capacitor. Do nothing with it. Isn't there anywhere to attach it to the fan? White to White and Black to Black should work. Try putting white to white and attach the brown one to the black. Maybe you have a bad motor?

yeah it looks the same... i used a 14g 2 prong plug. only has white and black. matched them up and plugged it in. if yours is not working like this, you might have a problem with it.

No I haven't been able to get the fan running yet. I guess it's just going to be a pile of junk sitting in the corner here.
