Will my light be enough?

Hi folks,

I am new in the field and I wanna ask a question about light. Is a Philzon 1200W LED enough light for 3 plants in a 2'x5' space?
The plants should reach a size of about 4.5' main-lined with 8 colas each.

for Veg it is great but I am not sure if it is enough for flower and good yield.
What's your opinion and advice?

Thank's for your help!

thing is I got the light already and I am in veg...
Just not sure if I should add another one. I wanted to safe money and was already over my budget with the Philzon. Now I would go for a Mars for example. but it's too late for that.
why is purple nasty?

Most people who talk shit on purple lights have never even used them. Or they just hate the purple filter that shows up in pictures. But as far as the quality of bud that they produce can be just as good as any light. I'm in week 9 of flower right now with my purple lights.

They just didn't work for me, 2 grows and the plants were always sickly and stunted.
Plugged in a HLG 240w + 2 knock off Quantums V2 ...... and my grow room is suddenly full of healthy vigorous plants.

Yeah, I also tried to save some money ..... but they're in the cupboard now.

It's great some people are have results with burple, but I bet for every 1 working light there a 9 'Amazon fakes' that do nothing.
Anyone ever had an HLG/Quantum that didn't work really well?

You are right about the fakes being out there and a lot of the LED lights extremely inflate their numbers. That's why I would urge anyone looking to purchase any type of LED Lights that you do your research. There are many smart people on YouTube that do very detailed experiments with various types of LED lights.

do you have an opinion about my question if the 1200W Philzon will be enough for my growth?
My goal would be to get yield like yours, the plant size might be also similar, just with 3 plants all together.

I went CRAZY watching YouTube videos before I bought my light....then I ended up replacing it anyway about 3 days after I bought it by asking questions here. If you don't know what to look for on YT, you end up finding a video touting just about every light as "best bang for the buck." So I think that's why a lot of guys end up with purple Amazon lights.

As soon as I had it in my hands and turned it on, I started to understand what all the differences were. Just takes (sometime quick) experience.

OP: That light draws 241w so you're looking at about 24w per sq-ft. Little on the low side, but more importantly I think you'd have issues with coverage. That's a long skinny tent, and the footprint of your light is only about 15"X8" and is going to put the majority of the light directly below it, or maybe 12" outside of that. So you'll only really be covering 2'X3'. IF you're set on that light, you'll need two. But for the price of two, you could get something better suited for the footprint of the tent you have. In my opinion you will be just fine with the light you have ( Not sure if you actually have that light yet or was just asking for opinions before you bought it) but Could you do better on lights? absolutely
we all could if money was no issue to any of us. You can complete a decent grow with that light then sell half of your crop and upgrade for your next grow.

I have the light already and the plants do very fine in veg with it.
But I was insecure if I would need more light for a big yield in flower.

had 3 Options:
1. going only with this single light
2. get a second one
3. get a 200W cfl bloom light (2700k) additional to the LED

That light will not be enough for flower in a 2x5 footprint. That light is advertised as 1200W but it only actually draws 240W. Those Phlizon lights are overpriced for what they are, too. You can get a decent COB LED light from Amazon that pulls 300W for $90 that would blow that light out of the water.

It’s not enough, I’d go with your option #2. Definitely don’t get cfl. If you can get a white 3000k or 3500k.

additional question: would the one light be be enough if I cut it down to two plants and let the third one out of the equation?
The footptint of the canopy would be around 2'x3'
or would it still be to weak?

So far majority of you guys say it is to weak for 3 plants on the 2'x5' footprint

2x3 = 6sqft which would out you at 40W/sqft and that is a lot better than the 24W/sqft for 2x5. I'm not sure how that calculation applies to growing in a larger tent with the plants in a smaller area, though.
