Ok, I've finally built a grow room in the attic and I need some help with my setup/design.

I included a picture to help illustrate my working space, its a poor attempt at an isometric drawing, but its just to give a general idea of the layout.

click for bigger image. FORGOT: the width of the floor is 12.6ft (room is 15ft long, 12.6ft wide)

The room is difficult because both sides are low and rise towards the center with a max height of 5'7. But the plus side is I have a pretty long room almost 15ft.

Anyways, my ultimate goal is to Sea of Green with as many plants as I can cram into that room. I have already bought most of the materials to build my own version of the Stealth Hydroponics system, except my tubs are 50gal tubs, and have yet to decide to do 12 plants or 6-8 bigger plants, open to suggestions. I know I'm limited height wise, but I figured if I go immediately into flower mode, the plants would angle themselves/or tie them over towards the lights in the center of the room, and I'll be fine?

What kind of lights? I read al's sog thread and he used two 1000mw hps lights, is my ceiling too low that it'll burn the plants? and how would I rotate the super heavy 50gal tubs?

And I assume I'd need a portable a/c unit to keep this room cool? I plan to install a/c and the charcoal canister, would I need supplemental CO2?

I know this project seems a bit crazy for someone with no experience but I thru hard work I saved up skipping a few meals, learned carpentry just to build this room, and I'm determined to make this a grow room worthy of rollitup, please help .

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Make the cieling flat and use some joist to mount drywall on then add a light mover and use a 1000 watt light on the light mover. You can do 2 dozen plants kept smaller in sea of green setup that way and wont require moving the plants. If you have the moeny add a few sets of T5 lights on the side walls down lower and use clones so you can flower as quick as needed.Grow an indica plant and do some topping and go for double top coloas and even a little lollipopping to keep good air movement around trhe plants.

if the peak is in the center just put some hookes up there and hang your lights. shape wont matter unless your're completely filling it wall to wall and the ones on the short end hit the celing from getting too tall.

You better have that area well insulated and ventilated. You would have to treat it like living space. Make sure you install the physical plant, plumbing lines, drain lines , electrical, and air handling systems need to be in place before you put plants up there. VV

thanks alot of the pointers guys, i went ahead and took your advices and ordered an A/c unit to keep the room cool, unfortunately it slipped my mind when i was building the room and i covered the roof vent =/ so now i gotta go find it. i also got panda lining ready, and need to do the electrical still, ill keep you all posted on my progress.

could you make the 9 ft roof part on hinges so you can just open it up to gain access to your plants? ,, i think that would work great

Wow you got alot of room to work with.
I would take advantage of the sloped wall and put mylar on it to reflect light back down onto the plants.
Best setup for that tight area would be a SOG, you could fit about 4 or more 4x4 foot flood and drain tables against the lower wall. I would just mount the bulbs vertically hanging from the ceiling on the cable nothing special just max light.

thanks so much for the layout advice and drawing ultranyte, i now have a much better mental visual of the room , the thought of using the sloped roof to reflect light never crossed my mind, i'll be sure to do that!, and i'll probably use your layout but add one more at the end to make a U shape. hope you don't mind i saved the image.

i guess my first order of business is to get the electrical installed, then install A/C, line the room, i'll keep you guys posted.
