Why?

Why is it that the USA thinks it has the right to sanction other countries for violence when they have started the most violent action on the planet? Why does the USA always think it has rights over other soverign countries and can impose their rules? Why are US hawks so certain they are right? Why is war always the answer? I just saw on the news that the US may impose sanctions on Syria if the government and Hesbolla don't stop fighting. Shouldn't we sanction ourselves for Iraq, Afghanistan? Why are we such grand assholes? Why do we think we are always right? Just my simple observations.

Because many Americans, as well as our "fearless" leaders, feel that it's our responsibility to keep the world safe from terrorism...at least that's the latest mantra. Just listen to Hillary, Obama, and McCain. :D

i wish i had answers too.. i feel ya med..

if there was only something we could do? the only way i feel like we could make change is if we got enough people informed about the atrocities and how the gov't has been pulling the wool over everyones eyes.

we would all need to come together and unite. we need a peoples union, its clear that the gov't is not working for the people of the united states. we need to put all the bullshit behind and think about the big picture and not fight over whos a democrat, republican, right, left, conservative, libby, etc...

or if we demanded RON PAUL in office we would be saved :D

Why? It is exceedingly simple -- because we can. And when the day comes when we can't, well... ;)

Theres always a flip side , Say the U.s dident help the brits in world war 2 ,Every one would possibly German now ..

The same as the great british empire trying to law other countrys when there armys have cause as much blood and war as any ..
The flip side its what has paved the way to how we live comfortably today and not like india with open sewers factorys stacked on top of each other dead dogs on the street rats running wild , a healthy ecomeny we have good hospitals , edcution , are nice homes every thing we take for granted is because of hunders of years of power struggling

Its the same as America taking control now days some one has to do it its not always correct and many innocent lives get lost , But if some of of these evil people did not get stoped what would of happened ,Hitler ,Sadaam , Bin Ladden the list goes on , what if they did not get stoped

I hate the way it all works its bully boy tactics Thou When it gets down to it id rather have the yanks being the worlds super power and not that evil chinese leader .or russia were promoting there New powerful rich and strong army on tv world wide this morning it just looked like the Hitler and Nazi,s starting all over again

I dont see the need for each country to have there own army in the day and age its just some of them other countrys are a bit scary if we are honest and i feel more comfortable with the yanks in control

Listen medicine, Maybe you are on the fronlines fighting against all this, but if you arent, then how is posting here going to help?
If you want action, fight for it. If you dont like what someone else is doing, change it.
And as for afghanistan and Iraq. if you cannot give me a solution that iwll work ,besides "pull all the troops out" lets here it. How about the taliban that was in afghan before us? Why dont you post how they took al the women out of any schools or jobs and left babies to starve if they didnt kill them outright?
Why dont you post on how saddams tortured peopl by having their arms and legs surgically removed and then sending them home like that. Or how he used chemical weapons and nerve agants on the kurds?
No offense, but all i ever see form you are one sided arguements that are all based on how you "feel". I'm sorry ,but you cannot run anything on your emotions and what you think is right.I feel bad for a lot of poele too, but if we werent over there, who would be?
WHy dont you take your time to come up with a solution and then making it happen?Hell, what do you do in your own community that is making it a better place?
And once again medicine,I mean no offense. I realixe your heart is in the right place. its just that the time for talking about the problems has come and gone. What was once conservative is now liberal. What was once liberal is no more. The middle rungs on the ladder to succes have disaperaed altogether, but yet there is no action anywhere being taken.
What this world needs is an enema.

Liberals have no solutions ... they are all emotion. Take the three candidates for president for example. What are their "solutions" for the oil situation? Either raise taxes on the oil companies and/or suspend the federal sales tax for the summer. That's it!

Where are the statesmen who will turn our energy situation around? I can tell you for certain, they are NOT in government ... they are in the private sector being held down by government regulations and bureaucratic, antiquated thinking. The answer isn't more government intrusion into the free market. The answer is to let the producers, developers and achievers alone. Give them a free reign over our energy development and within five years we will be energy self sufficient.

I'd like to address this, as my own stance has been firm from the beginning.
Taliban: No one gave a shit before the attacks on 9/11. For some reason, people think the Taliban were involved. The only thing the Pashtun tribes did was NOT give up the guy who stuck with them through the ENTIRE Soviet thing. Us? We gave weapons (to bin Laden and Hussein, more on that later), we gave training, including on torture. While the Taliban was destroying the Buddhas no one gave a shit. And honestly, why should we? Why should we expect the entire rest of the world to live exactly as we do? They've had their cultural traditions for a hell of a long time. I say let them fight the shit out for themselves.

Same thing with the Iraqis. No one ever values what they didn't have to work or fight for themselves as much as that which they did. We should NOT have given Hussein those weapons that he used against the Kurds (who we now allow the Turks to bomb after giving them assurances we were allied), but we did. The Kurds fight and fought. The rest of the Iraqis? Fuck 'em! They should have fought their own Goddamn battle!
Why dont you post how they took al the women out of any schools or jobs and left babies to starve if they didnt kill them outright?
What babies? They are still taking women out of school, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. What are we going to "do" about Pakistan? We'd better do nothing.
Why dont you post on how saddams tortured peopl by having their arms and legs surgically removed and then sending them home like that. Or how he used chemical weapons and nerve agants on the kurds?
Addressed above. I get the feeling you're trying to make our oil imperialism about more altruistic purposes, and those were ostensible at best. In truth, they don't exist because no one really gives a shit.
No offense, but all i ever see form you are one sided arguements that are all based on how you "feel". I'm sorry ,but you cannot run anything on your emotions and what you think is right.I feel bad for a lot of poele too, but if we werent over there, who would be?
I agree and disagree. We shouldn't be there, no one should be. We can NOT be the world police. What's ironic is that so many of these people want us to be the world police, yet resent us for acting as such. Of course, self-funding police are a rather dangerous thing, aren't they?

Honestly, if we were SO altruistic in our actions, how did Rwanda happen, exact? How about Zimbabwe (and now yet again)? The list is long and exhausting.
WHy dont you take your time to come up with a solution and then making it happen?Hell, what do you do in your own community that is making it a better place?

Heh.. then we let everyone be, let everyone kill each other off. Honestly. that's how I feel a lot of the time. Let them have it, let them have at each other, we need to take care of our problems at home.

As for "liberal" versus "conservative, what a fucking CROCK!
I give you HR 4279, which our representatives have overwhelmingly passed and is now moving on to the Senate. Whores.

Very nice spin sweet lady. OBL and his group kept to themselves, it was only after he was forced from saudi and then sudan when he went back to afghanistan that he hooked up with the taliban as they needed money and he needed a place to stay this is how and why they became allies.
A lot of people gave a shit as did I but nothing could be easely done. Though the taliban weren't directly involved saying that they weren't involved wouldn't be correct eather.

Us? We gave weapons (to bin Laden and Hussein, more on that later), we gave training, including on torture.
The US didn't give weapons nor training to OBLs group past the use of the stingers and as I have stated theres not any proof of that.
I will await your post on saddam.

While the Taliban was destroying the Buddhas no one gave a shit.
I did as I would when anything of such art and age was destroyed.

And honestly, why should we? Why should we expect the entire rest of the world to live exactly as we do? They've had their cultural traditions for a hell of a long time. I say let them fight the shit out for themselves.
Same thing with the Iraqis.
I could debate some of this but I don't dissagree.

No one ever values what they didn't have to work or fight for themselves as much as that which they did.
I value almost all things but what you say is true sadly.

We should NOT have given Hussein those weapons that he used against the Kurds
I will await your post with proof of this.

(who we now allow the Turks to bomb after giving them assurances we were allied), but we did. The Kurds fight and fought.
The Kurds understood that we were allied only for a time, and their fight with the turks would never be supported by the US. This fight with the turks couldn't bring about what they want.

The rest of the Iraqis? Fuck 'em! They should have fought their own Goddamn battle!
What babies? They are still taking women out of school, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. What are we going to "do" about Pakistan? We'd better do nothing.

Here you are just wrong. The part that OIL plays is that the money that it brings can be used to cause problems and it has over and over.

I agree and disagree. We shouldn't be there, no one should be. We can NOT be the world police. What's ironic is that so many of these people want us to be the world police, yet resent us for acting as such. Of course, self-funding police are a rather dangerous thing, aren't they?

Thay don't have OIL money to spread their problems.

How Did Iraq Get Its Weapons? We Sold Them
Classified US Defense Department documents also seen by the Sunday Herald show that Britain sold Iraq the drug pralidoxine, an antidote to nerve gas, in March 1992, after the end of the Gulf war. Pralidoxine can be reverse engineered to create nerve gas.
The Senate committee's reports on 'US Chemical and Biological Warfare-Related Dual-Use Exports to Iraq', undertaken in 1992 in the wake of the Gulf war, give the date and destination of all US exports. The reports show, for example, that on May 2, 1986, two batches of bacillus anthracis -- the micro-organism that causes anthrax -- were shipped to the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, along with two batches of the bacterium clostridium botulinum, the agent that causes deadly botulism poisoning.
One batch each of salmonella and E coli were shipped to the Iraqi State Company for Drug Industries on August 31, 1987. Other shipments went from the US to the Iraq Atomic Energy Commission on July 11, 1988; the Department of Biology at the University of Basrah in November 1989; the Department of Microbiology at Baghdad University in June 1985; the Ministry of Health in April 1985 and Officers' City, a military complex in Baghdad, in March and April 1986...

This assistance, according to the report, included 'chemical warfare-agent precursors, chemical warfare-agent production facility plans and technical drawings, chemical warfare filling equipment, biological warfare-related materials, missile fabrication equipment and missile system guidance equipment'. Here they are closing the deal...
