do you think if this goes though the push to legalize will die out a bit?

thats my real fear. this gives the sheeple just enough to shut them up for a while so no real change will happen for years.

i think we need real deal or nothing more than we have now. if its kept kind of illegal there will be more push to get it done

i hear a lot of people saying "yes" simply based on the fact that "it's better than nothing". this is wrong. :(

Def wrong. They are going to put us in a real bad position. Not just for growers that need bigger gardens than the bill allows but also for the people - all of us/them - I dont know what will happen exactly, but I know that prop 215 did not go smoothly, there have been shit loads of arrests, non-legitimate arrests, ones that fall through in court. This puts a lot of people at a loss (of monetary, physical, and emotional levels), simply because things were not fully established and disclosed, as well as different authorities enforcing different laws.

LOL
Growing weed is as easy/hard as growing tomatoes .... u just have to get your system dialed in.
I don't want to take anything away form all the people who do this illegally ..... as that is the factor which makes this hobby dangerous and hence hard !
Taking into consideration that U have a card .... I find your statement:

Hardly a career .... involving talent. (you either can/or can not)
If by the third grow you are failing .... you should not be growing.
What about all the peps who are doing hard time ?? .... as mentioned .... booked for unfortunate accidents involved in your and mine, favorite hobby ? Sure, lets let them move your shit ... and get booked !!
Your reek of greed 2 me .... if you want to be a bad ass .... after legalization you can move on to growing/extracting other things ... that are illegal .... no ?
Your perception and lack of understanding on how this plant helps the sick .... is astounding ....especially since you are a card holder (what is your dysfunction I wonder ?) U got headaches .... can't sleep at night ?
IMHO you don't even have the balls .... as u grow under a legit-umbrella as per being lucky enough to have the card.
Look here:
My friends 24 year old brother has severe Autism, he is starting to support himself by selling his very unique art, here is his website.
http://www.shawnbelanger.com/newgallery
He's got talent .... and is fighting to survive ...... and U .... just want to capitalize !

.... hope u see the light before November.

What about all the people that will be doing hard time after this new law is put into place??

Look back 2 to 3 pages and you find an example as to a 20 year old that could spend 7 years in prison for passing a joint - how in the fuck is this far???

The current law is not ideal - but it is a lot closer to freedom than the new one is...

LOL

Dude, you admitted you have not even read the damn thing, and you still go on pushing this outright lie about a 20 year old going to state prison for 7 years over a joint. Give it up, you are misinformed

So your theory is that if this passes, it will set the legalization movement back? That is far-fetched at the very least, or outright desperation to justify your position. I smell some cognitive dissonance, in fact

i've seen him as well. he signed the pics that i sent him. he used them in his newsletter. i won a "pics of your garden contest". fucker was supposed to send me a signed copy of the grow bible. after 7 emails and him completely ignoring me i gave up. he never sent my PRIZE. :( didn't even acknowledge the fact i existed. flat out ignored me.

i attended OU about a year later. i brought in one of the newsletters with my pics in it. asked him to sign it for me. he said "oh, that is you?". i said "yep". he signed it and never said a word about my book. he knows he owes it to me. it was back before all this stuff blew up big so it's not like i got lost in his busyness. he wasn't that busy back then.

dude used my pics on the promise of rewarding me. he burned me instead and until i get my book, he can fuck himself. i'm VOTING NO.

dude has zero personality as well. like talking to a jar of mayo.

I've seen you vacillate on this issue all over this thread, this is the closest I have seen to a 'why I'm voting no' from you though. If this is your real reason, it is a VERY petty one

The perfect stand in the way of the good?!?! I will take that as a compliment as I am damn near perfect. I wouldnt call your stance "the good" more like the ignorant.

I figured you would have a hole army of inbreeds waiting to vote on this. lol.

So you are perfect and the family I am marrying into is 'a bunch of inbreeds'.....desperation is a stinky cologne my friend. And don't forget, you have to follow the board rules as well...

i'm a card holder. i'm allowed 3 pounds, 30 plants, 100 square feet of canopy space.

bongsmilie

And you will still be allowed your limits....I have posted this before, it seems to have been ignored by all the stoners screaming that legalization = sky falling....

Section 11301: Commercial Regulations and Controls
Notwithstanding any other provision of state or local law, a local government may adopt ordinances, regulations, or other acts having the force of law to control, license, regulate, permit or otherwise authorize, with conditions, the following:

(l) such larger amounts as the local authority deems appropriate and proper under local circumstances, than those established under section 11300(a) for personal possession and cultivation, or under this section for commercial cultivation, processing, transportation and sale by persons authorized to do so under this section;

Of course you dont want to talk about the past - history is known to repeat itself doesnt it???

Who cares if it is the entire bill or not - WTF does that have to do with anything. I havent read the bill only what people post on this thread and my thread. I dont need to read the entire thing to know that it is not going to result in happy stoners all over CA like you and others think it will. I can think logically and know this....
I must be talking to Chuck NOrris. Chuck Norris does not need to read books, he just stares at them until he gets the information he needs.

You do not need to read the bill, you just need to think about it logically and come to a conclusion BASED ON FALSE INFORMATION!

You have pushed that a 20 year old will go to jail for 7 years under this bill.....FALSE
You have pushed that your limit will be reduced to pre-215 levels....FALSE

Why don't you actually try to READ the ENTIRE legislation, then we can have a sunstantive debate about this. But if you just want to go around posting falsehoods and outright lies based upon your misunderstanding of what other people have said about this bill, that is your right and I will be happy to correct you at every point along the way.

But I won't make any insults about your family

I guess giving every Californian the right to their own 5x5 garden is not legalization....tell me what is then!

I could pump out ounces on demand out of a space like that....I know because I currently do it with a 10 sq ft space and a 6 plant limit.

And again, if your local authority allows for more (see section L) then you may.

Again, EVERYONE is allowed to grow their own generous sized garden. EVERYONE. How is that NOT legalization?

My friend, have you not realized that there is no such thing as Democracy nor true freedom !! How old are U ??
Laws are written to be changed .... so any step towards a pseudo legalization is a good move in my book.
First you have to change the perception of people by introducing things nice and slow .... once accepted by the population at hand ... you slowly change the law ... or work out the existing kinks ..... that is the only way.
A better way .... for all.
I am not hatting on u sir .... It's just that I am terminally ill .... most of the stuff I grow .... I give away ... to sick people who really need it as I know how much this stuff helps personally... for example .... If you are having a hard time sleeping or eating after chemo ..... u need the shit .... and got no money to buy it .... as it is so overpriced ....... what do you do ??
Please excuse me if I am having a hard time understanding ..... how u are going to loose out on this.
Happy growing.

little tangent huh.

fdd - backed my claim of the 20 year old scenario. He posted shortly after mine with the validation.

I honestly dont fell as though taking to time to read the entire bill is not going to help your argument. Any portions of the bill i have read I have issues with, even posts from your side of the argument. What is needed by me and many others is not needed by many others - if that makes sense.

My claims to the law being "not ready" are mostly due to the facts of bill on the ballot - if we dont pass now there will be another opportunity - the people need to negotiate more to try and keep the current freedoms we have. Currently we are going to trade some of our freedoms with this bill for all adults to smoke for rec purposes - why are we not simply adding those freedoms to the current laws with this bill? Why are we loosing some of our rights we have now?

As long as I am loosing in so many ways on a personal level - it is only in my best interest to vote no. I was only trying to get others to see this perspective in hopes that we would have an opportunity to write the laws as they should be written - not all these stipulations and talk about small amounts being ok.

You and I have already discussed this on a one on one basis during the course of this thread - you and I have diff needs - we cannot see eye to eye or reason with one another on this topic.

I apologize for the unnecessary comment. Truly I do - I dont know you or your family...

i've stated several reasons, numerous times. all of them valid and most simply ignored by you.

i'm not here to gain your acceptance.

i'm not worried about me. i'm thinking of others.

my biggest problem with this is sharing mmj with friends would be illegal, for money of for free. it puts clubs with permits as the only vendors. will all county and cities give permits? no
will people get out of jail for past mj crime? no
will you still go to jail for sharing mj? yes
how is that helping anyone more than prop 215? it's not any one that wants a card can get one and trade or share with other card holders.

lets not just pass the first crappy thing we see and hope it get changed to be better later. there are more mj initiatives in the works lets vote in a good one. this passing will all but kill the rest, those are better by the way. go to ca.gov and read the ballot initiatives that are collecting sigs to get on the ballot before you vote on this and make Mr Lee the ceo of california mj

I can understand from a growers perspective or someone in the industry and how legalization will hurt the margin or profitability of marijuana but that is not the reason I will not be voting for legalization for recreational purposes. The way it is now people are getting prescribed "medical marijuana" for an ailment that is 8/10 of the time overblown. I think it is all ready too easy to procure marijuana. I really dont care either way but if I had to vote I would vote it down also.
