right now i'm allowed 3 pounds, 100 square feet and 30 plants. there are 30 Dr's in town if you need help getting a card.

why put limits and restrictions on it? i want NO limits, NO restrictions. how hard is this to understand? alcohol has no limits, why limit pot?

Well, if you're currently a MMJ patient, I don't think this law affects you at all. For everyone else, it would make a huge difference.

I want a lot of things I'm never going to get...a blowjob from monica belluci comes to mind. Again, you are letting the perfect become the enemy of the good.

And there are many limits on alcohol. Home distilling is mostly illegal, you need licenses for selling, there are opening/sales hours for liquor stores etc.

lets just jump on the first thing that comes up then.
The first thing that comes up? How long has cannabis been illegal?

It's taken 70 years to get to this point. And believe me, if this thing goes down it will be another decade before something like this comes along....

You can always fix a law once it's been passed.

yeah i was going to say that earler but i wanted to find the law first
but there are many laws on alcohol but must are no inforced
like here in chicago you cant sell alcohol between 1-6 am
or have open containers out in plain veiw thats why the put it in brown bags
and you cant walk down the street drunk which is fucked up cause they dont want you to drive , and they just outlawed drinking games in bars (beer pong) and i'm almost sure i cant pick up my kids from school smelling like a gal. of gin
this is all i can think of right now
the thing is big alcohol pay the gov. under the table to turn the back on some of this
maybe if we had a big pot the same would start to happen

those are all public drinking laws, mostly. you can still legally posses and carry all the unopened you want. you can have a garage full. you can brew all the beer for yourself that you want. anyone can start a winery or brewery. we have them everywhere here. you aren't gonna get thrown in jail for having to many 12 packs. i think the same should go with pot.

It's The Law!

  1. After Michael O'Neil opened O'Neil's Saloon, he was promptly informed by the state liquor authority that he was breaking the law by using the word "saloon." He complied by changing the "S" into a "B," thus making it O'Neil's Baloon. 1
  2. Although the French wine, "Fat Bastard," is now distributed in 22 states in the US. both Texas and Ohio have banned its sale within their borders. 2
  3. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BAFT) bans the word "refreshing" to describe any alcohol beverage. 3
  4. A young adult college student studying in Italy can't have a glass of Chianti with dinner, according to the Drug Free Schools and Campuses Act. Students under the age of 21 are prohibited by the federal government from conforming to the drinking laws and customs of the countries in which they are studying. This, of course, is contrary to the educational goals underlying international education or study abroad programs. 4
  5. It is a violation of the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Act for producers of alcohol beverages to list the names of retailers or restaurants that sell their products in advertising or even in newsletters. 5
  6. A person can be sent to jail for five years for merely sending a bottle of beer, wine or spirits as a gift to a friend in Kentucky. 6
  7. Maryland now requires that alcohol beverage writers be certified as experts by an agency of the state before they can receive product samples, which it limits to three bottles per brand. 7
  8. Anyone under the age of 21 who takes out household trash containing even a single empty alcohol beverage container can be charged with illegal possession of alcohol in Missouri. 8

  19. The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a recipe for making beer that can be used at home. 19
  20. It's illegal in Indiana for liquor stores to sell milk or cold soft drinks. They can, however, sell uinrefrigerated soft drinks. 20
  21. Texas state law prohibits taking more than three sips of beer at a time while standing. 21
  22. Nebraska state law prohibits bars from selling beer unless they are simultaneously brewing a kettle of soup. 22

Mark Phillips of Alexandria, Virginia, was arrested for selling a single bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild wine to an undercover agent in an Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) board sting.
Phillips, as leader of a local wine club had agreed to post the offer on the club's web site on behalf of a member of the diplomatic service who needed to dispose of that bottle and a few others in preparation for an overseas tour of duty for the United States.
In making the arrest, ABC appeared at Phillips' house with a dozen armed officers and held the accused and his family under guard while officers searched the house. They threatened to confiscate Phillips' entire personal wine collection, not just the few bottles he offered for sale on behalf of a friend.
The case was dismissed on a technicality, but had Phillips been convicted of selling alcohol without a licence, he could have faced one year in jail and a $2,500 fine. 29

CALIFORNIA

It is a violation of the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Act for producers of alcohol beverages to list the names of retailers or restaurants that sell their products in advertising or even in newsletters. 6
If it’s bad for producers, it’s even worse for servers in California, where they can be convicted of selling to a minor if the purchaser uses a false or altered ID to buy the alcohol. 7
More lunacy in California: An award-winning adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood was withdrawn from a recommended reading list by the school board in Culver City, California, simply because the heroine had included a bottle of wine in the basket she brought to her grandmother. 8

In the Untied States, in all states, home brewing beer was taxed until 1979, after which, home brewing beer, in small amounts became exempt and caught on rapidly. Many states soon allowed the brewing of beer. Brewing wine in the home was allowed after prohibition was repealed, but still taxed and allowed in some states.
Jimmy Carter signed the bill into law in 1978 - 26 USCS § 5053(e) provides exemptions from federal taxation for beer brewed for personal use. Of course we all remember, “Billy Beer,” don’t we? The infamous younger brother to the President, and who’s, “Billy beer,” was a collector item for several years? The legislation spawned an ever growing industry of home brewing recipes, supplies and information.

from what i understand HALF of the community is against it. including ed rosenthal, jorge cervantes and dennis peron. there has to be a reason why. they don't grow to sell so it's not the money.

Where i live i can get arrested for having more than one gram. And u whine about one ounce!
Even decriminalization is unreachable dream where i live. But the prices are enormous. 1g goes for 20 bucks or sometimes more, have gotten ripped of by buying 0.2 g for 25 bucks.
Keeping it illegal really suck!
You all who are just against it, are ok for the moment. But maybe legalizing would make a chain-reaction, and other countries would start think other way too.
I live in different continent but i want it to be legalized even where i dont live, so ppl opinions change.
Getting caught here with more than 1 gram, you can even get jailed for a few years. Dealing results 5-10 years.
SO i would definitely want i could legally have 25 sq foot garden and take an ounce with me not worried about going to jail for 10 years.
You just cant imagine how it is "living in a country with laws like this".
Seems like a lot of ppl just care only about themselves.
