Why is Communism bad?

it depends on the kind of government. communism doesnt exactly mean they control you 100%. lol its not like the book anthem by Ayn Rand (which is a hell of a book btw) My parents grew up in soviet union. My mom loved basketball and went to college for it. my dad wanted to be a doctor even though he was on the olympic team so he went to college for that. There is still some comptetion. And theres more corruption than you think. They just make it seem like its hell on Earth ( thanks to the cold war),

The problem was pay. My dad made only a few more bucks than janitors and construction workers. The whole common good thing...

I personally think America would be way better off with a government with a philosophy of Ron Paul's type. Hands off. Competition and commercialism makes for better advances and production. Just my opinion. Too bad too many people are babies and think we should rely on the government more.

Sorry Ron paul... I would have voted for you
You know what I found amazing, was how much media attention that dipshit McCain got compared to the other Republican Candidates (Ron Paul, Romney and Huckabee). The best of the candidates was probably Ron Paul, who can only be described as a Libertarian.

Replacement of Income Taxes with a National Retail Sales Tax

Return to the Gold Standard

Withdrawal from Iraq (I disagree but that's because I think since we are there we ought to finish the job.)

And he thought that Environmentalism was BS

No Socialized Medicine

4/5, versus 0/5 for McCain and Obama. Of the Republican Candidates Ron Paul was probably the best, McCain was just the Media's biotch, I wonder how much cock he sucked to get them to support him.

+1. I will as well.

If any of you haven't seen Ron Paul or Jesse Ventura's speeches from the Rally for the Republic, I highly suggest you youtube them. The movement will carry on.

The Ron Paul movement is so splintered, part are writing him in, the other part is split between Baldwin and Barr, and yet another part just won't vote this election.

Even if there wasn't an alternative to Obama and McCain I'd be voting, better to get the lesser of two evils (or at least make an attempt to) than to get stuck with the greater of the two evils (Obama).

The problem when you have to pick the less of two evils- you're still picking evil.

Thousands died so you could have the right to vote for who YOU think would be the BEST person to run this country. I wish more Americans realized that.

Could quote me in full, cause I stated that even if I only had a choice between Obama and McCain I'd vote for McCain just because he seems the more palatable of the two, even if they both leave a lot to be desired, and seem hell bent on screwing over everyone.

I agree with brutal on the Ron Paul assesment.

What I would like to see is a third candidate and none of them get the 270 electorial votes needed. (outdated system). Who would chose then? Interesting.

McCain wasn't my first choice, or the best choice, but now he is the only choice.

Just my opinion tho.

I finally got off my ass and did more research into the Libertarian Party. I think I'm going to vote Libertarian.

Screw Obama, and Screw McCain.

"The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise." Taticus

safety, and the possibility of the same, is an illusion shoved down our throats by corrupt bureaucrats attempting to strip us of our rights in an attempt to make us "safer". As such any attempt to increase safety corresponds to attempts to decrease freedom, thus Safety = Slavery.

Barr is a good choice- I personally don't like him simply for the fact that he voted FOR the FISA bill. Unless the good Dr. tells me to give Barr my vote- write in it will be..

Ron Paul ran for president as a libertarian in 88.. they begged Paul to take the lib nomination this year... I still wish he would have. But his reasoning to not do it was sound..

1. Bob Barr doesn't stand a chance.

2. Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance.

3. If Obama bin Biden wins, we will be that much closer to communism.

4. If McCain/Palin wins, it will set the progressive movement back 50 years.

Therefore, the old Libertarian that I am, will be voting the McCain/Palin ticket. Yeppers ... the first Republican presidential nominee I've voted for since The Gipper.

I'd love to vote Obama and put a man from my home state in office and end the whole "a black man will never be president" thing, but I can't vote for someone who has promised to raise taxes in a recession.
