Why does my weed taste like shit?

so ok, i just harvested my 5th plant since i started growing in april. ive got a 400w hps bulb and hood. in my grow room got a squirell cage fan for exhaust, and an intake fan that blows on plants. the get good dark time with no other light. spray perrier on leaves early right before light comes on while its cool. im using fox farm evrything. Ocean forrest soil, mixed with peace of mind organic fertilizer (5-8-4). Grow big for veg, big bloom and tiger bloom for flower. am i doing everything right and it just tastes like shit because the only thing ive grown is bagseed? i hope so, buds dont ever even taste like weed at all. i flush for two weeks as well with plain water. HELP??? just got my seeds in the mail too so hopefully that will be the problem. MP5k i just got. any help????

What's your dry/cure regiment?

well i havent got one down yet that worked. ive let dry for like a week then put in a jar and let it cure as i took buds out to smoke em, someone told me to air dry 3 days and then stick in a jaar opening once a day? did that and it still just kinda tastes not like what it should.

How long do you leave them in the jars before smoking them?

usually just a couple days before i cant wait. you think if i cure for like 2 weeks it sill change

but like half the bud is stayiong in the jar for at least a week before i get to smoke the last half

Most of the veteran growers on this site tell me to cure for atleast a month.Im a new grower myself So I wouldnt want to wait that long either but it might be the prob.

damn, wellll i dont know how i feel bout that. maybe when i have more to harvest at once ya know. right now i just harvest one every month. just cloned a female a hshitloead at once so soon ill try that, thanks

Dude, the most best strains will taste like shit if you don't dry & cure your shit right. It's the difference between home grown & the good shit. Once dried properly, cure in the glass jars, burp them once per day to release the chloroform for at lest 1 month. 2 & 3 months is better. Proper drying & curing is 50% of the whole deal. "Serve no wine before it's time."

yeh you should probably cure for longer, im new to this but ive seen people on here to say for about a month, because of taste and potency

I think there's something else in the equation f'ing it up. You should be able to let a bud get crispy on the outside and still get a good taste out of it (not as good as the well cured stuff but shouldnt taste like crap). Maybe it is just a combo of bad drying technique and seed from mass produced mexican brown weed. Some pics of your plant in the latter stages of flowering would help diagnose.

I just harvested and cured for the first time about a month ago and I had the same problem. The weed didnt taste good at all except for the greens and I was pretty pissed.

But I just waited about another week and it kept curing and then it tasted fine with no harsh after so just be patient.

It shouldn't taste like crap though even if it was just air dried for a week with no curing. It should taste good and then just get better with curing but I've never had it taste like shit and then get ok.

I'd suspect something else. Did you flush for the last two weeks of flowering?

Did you have any bugs you had to spray for?

Even bugs alone will Fuk up your buds taste, those spider mites taste like shit.

It could be the type of weed you grew, but make sure you have the rest covered just to be sure your good seeds end up tasting good.

Even perrier sprayed on buds could be changing the taste if you did it in the last few days.

I have to agree, curing should make it taste better, not determine the taste. I buy weed all the time that hasnt been cured, hell hasnt even been dryed fully but it tastes nice and funky. But my first grow was with bagseed under a 400hps and i dryed it and cured it and no matter what it taste like shit. Its your strain, oh yeah what are your temps?

i chopped a branch off my plant a few weeks ago and let it dry not even a week and it tasted great... it must be the bagseed, theres no way curing affects the entire taste of the bud. does the shit still get you high is the question haha

Man,cure those buds...and since you cant wait so long,just take a small chunk to smoke..and make this last..Cure the erst and forget about them for like a month...burp everyday though!!If i was you,Id start smoking joints to make the wed last longer..Ive always thought smoking out of bongs and pipes is a HUGE waste of weed...one "bowl"will easily make a decent joint..thus making it alst alot longer,and getting you fucked up!

what kinda bowl you got that can fit a whole J in? maybe i just like to roll big joints haha seems like one or two fat bong rips would save you more weed than joints...

Allright...you guys pack bowls right..that weed would be burnt up in like 5 bong rips..am I right?For that,just roll a little Juicy Jayz,or Brown Sugar whcih is even better...then just enjoy countless hits....instead of worrying about re-packing the bowl,IMHO bowls waste weed...you guys should really look into Juicy Jays,or the Brown Sugar...theyr on Ebay for cheap,and VERY tasty...
