Why does Marijuana have to be medicinal? Why can't I just smoke as I enjoy it.

I sometimes wonder whether my joy for a smoke instead of a drink, will be frowned upon by my fellow smokers in the near future, as I do not use it for medicinal purposes.

I really despise drinking and find that I love to have a smoke instead, but will this be seen as a grubby pastime considering that I currently lack the medicinal need for it?

I don't want marijuana to be just associated with someone who just has an illness;

- Also, in no way am I trying to take anything away from anyone's issues or causes, I just want to not niche ourselves into a corner... and not just use the medicinal as the overall excuse.

I smoke mostly for joy,and partially for stress. i hate how people look at me funny when i say i dont drink. to me getting high is the safer and more enjoyable thing to do.

Completely agree man. Its so hypocritical that we can drink all we want, but cant smoke cannabis, which is far less dangerous and probably is less harmful. I have thought of this too, it sorta sucks all the serious movements for marijuana are for strict medical use. I dont have any conditions the govt says I would need it for, but just the way it makes me relax and enjoy things more makes me a better, happier person. Its such a victim less crime.
