Looks like the Oslon deep red is the best value out of the three, but Mouser only has the 150 degree and the 80 degree would be the way to go. Plus you would have to reflow mount them onto stars unless there is a source with them already mounted for a fair price.

That said, for those prices you could get high 60s or even 70% efficiency from a CXB3590. So for new builds I would recommend against monos.

According to datasheet Radiant flux @350mA,

3T are ~355mW-400mW.
4T (hard to get, but have been seen for about 2 years ...) are ~400-455mW

How did you get 350 - 344.75mW ? Did you estimate using more real life Tj ?

If only we had a "Jerry" for cheap 4Ts, I bet everyone would fill those 8 or so spare watts on their driver with these ...

But then again, with "if only (..)"s the world would be a very different place ;)

This was my conclusion when considering my build and why I stuck with the 3590's.

Alright last post and I'm back to a break. Feel I need to give a better reason as I've shown numerous builds with monos mixed in.

White works great. I personally feel there is still a divide between in and out light. As long as I feel that way I'll adjust my spectrum. With monos or whatever is the appropriate tech choice. Until ag cobs are made or monos are upsized into more powerful units I don't think monos are going anywhere.

I guess you could customize a cob now!
I think alta led or something like that do that...but it is expensive...but the chips are beautiful...many colors...70's!
Have a great day ★

It simply isn't that easy; white led / phosphorous layer have already undergone huge improvements.

Whites used to lose so much efficiency relative to blues they are made from.
It's gone a long way over the years.

You can't get more red without losing some blue and in between .... for the nth time, you want more red ?? ADD MONOS !! ;)

This is what I alluded to above; I'll take mine with a thick and meaty red band, the blue peak and a tasty bump in the UVB... and a side of fries, please-
Thanks for not saying fries are french (which they are certainly not), all this confusion because an american named Thomas Jefferson got it wrong, and couldn't dissociate between Belgium and France ... Ah those americans love messing with other peoples time/stuff/government and all ! ;)

LJ, don't even think of trying to steal our fries, you know we are better at making them anyways, you can keep you pomme duchesse, pomme dauphine, and pomme allumette, but don't even think about touching our fries !

'French' fries were actually invented in some resort hotel in the Poconos, if I recall my foodie history correctly.

I prefer mine with malt vinegar or bearnaise sauce.

lol you sir are a fool for this one lol @heckler73 I don't know how you come up with shit lol.
It's a good book and I like it more than Lipson^3. I just noticed people are confused about lenses, so that's a book that will explain the details. For example, why use heavy glass when plastic Fresnel lenses are cheaper and lighter? Plants don't need to see the chips in detail. If I inadvertently created a funny, fantastic!

As for monos, one reason for using them is to control photomorphogenesis. NASA is also still a believer in Blurple, not phosphors.
However, for the average Ma & Pa DIY'er, your style is probably close enough to ideal.
BTW how much did your lenses cost each? I imagine they were $5 or more, correct?

And the best wine I ever drink was...from Austria...white wine who taste like a grape sirup...unforgettable!
I am not a wine fan but this one...it is like nectar of the gods...better than ice wine!

Oh yes I forgot to say that the best burger I ever eat was from...US!
It was in a Huey's (I'm not sure about the name...there's girls who serve have rollers and dressed like 60's) in Sacramento! And I went to one in San Francisco where they made bathroom graffiti an old movie...really nice places! And towns! (More San Francisco than Sacramento...!)
Soon I will come to visit the new "Amsterdam"!
