i see a lot of ppl have a lot of negativity towards advanced nutrients. personally i use advanced nutrients overdrive. i cant really say how much it helps because i use it every time. it came with my kit from htg supply and they seem to recommend it, and i always been one to side with htg supply. maybe when i flower i will not use it on a few to see the difference but even then it will be hard to judge cause each individual plant is different(they're fem seeds from the same plant but none are clones except my 1 sweet tooth.). also i only have 1 400w light so every few days im rotating the plants so they get more even lighting, although i have no set pattern really, just put the weaker and ones that have stretched more towards the brighter areas. so even if i did do a test, it would probably be far from the scientific method. i certainly havent had any problems with AN, but have no way of knowing how good it really is, at least not with my current setup. so why exactly do ppl not like AN? any other feedback good/bad?

One thing I have heard is, the consistancy of the product quality varies. You never know if your getting a bad bottle. But that is just hearsay.

AN is expensive, thats why we hate them! Just kidding, but the price scares my ass away. I use technaflora but AN has been grouping their products for various levels of "experience" I think they flood the market with specialty products. And it scares off people from trying new shit...when I can get 3 qts of bloom boost AND grow for 35 with technaflora...I pay 40$ for 1 qt. You do the math, and I get great results.

Expensive, worthless BS snakeoil. Their slick advertising got me for nearly $500. I was doing a side-by-side soil grow and did not even add any nutes and there was virtually no difference between the two, except the hydro was a little bigger - as would be expected. When I say "worthless", I mean instead of putting a complete nutrient package together like Dutch Masters, Iconic and others have done, AN decided they would sell each ingredient individually - for unbelievable profits and you "must have" these or your plants will suck. I know what it costs to make this stuff; omg do I ever feel educated.

I'm pretty well sold on Big Bud, but I also am kind of getting sick of seeing a new must have product every week. The PH Perfect stuff looks pretty interesting. Does anybody really run their entire product suite though? Like with Piranha, Rhino Skin, Sensizyme, everything...?

People hate them due to their prices as well as their having inflated egos and claiming to be the best.
The best thing they have going for them is the fact their products are targeted towards growing cannabis
and they're not afraid to say it. I'm not sure if that can be said about any other products out there.

None of their products are snake oil, I've used their entire line for a couple of grows and had great results.

Are they overpriced? Yeah, but every company is overpricing their products as they're trying to make money.

I've found that asking on the forums if one thing is better than another the results are very mixed, the best
way to find out is to give it a try for yourself and see if it's worth it.

Like I mentioned, I have used their full lineup as well as just a handful of their products and had good results with both.
I have also used BC series nutes, Botanicare, GH and DM, all of which performed well. I have yet to see any crazy
results from one over another, all relatively the same. My next product to test out is the
Home and Garden line as I've seen great things come from their products, but they're rather expensive as well.

In the end simply do what works for you. Ganja is an easy plant to grow and will do so with any of the nute companies out
to date. If you can't afford the more expensive nutes then don't fret just get whatever you can afford. This can be a ridiculously
expensive hobby so just use what you're comfortable using and what gives you happy results. Personal experimentation is the
best way to get the answers you want as there are many bias' on the internet and misinformation.

Ah, Advanced Nutrients gets no respect....LOL

Here are the biggest issues people have:

Cost

Everyone thinks everything is too expensive these days. Everything costs money, good products just cost more. Personally, I've found I can get away with smaller amounts of nutes when I use AN, so it all balances out to be the same price for me. And the harvests I've seen? The price is definitely worth it.

Complexity

Sure, if you're a Master Grower, you might want to use a million products. I'm not a master, and I don't want to be. I just use a few:

Sensi A&B *or* Micro-Grow-Bloom
Bud Candy
Bug Bud
(sometimes Voodoo)
(sometimes Final Phase)

That's it. I think the idea that AN pushes a million nutes, saying that you have to use them all is unfair. You get to make the choice, you know. You can decide to use a few and then use a few from another brand. It's your call. AN isn't holding a gun to anyone's head, trying to tell them to use everythign.

At the same time, they are a company what wants to make money and people who don't actually do the research they need to do will probably end up using more than they need. That can happen with ANY nutrient.

People need to be smart, not just rely on the company for all of their information.

The Way They Market

Ah, the snake oil thing. A lot of shills use that term, thinking that people will be scared by it. Didn't work on me when I was first starting out.

Know what I did - I TRIED DIFFERENT NUTES UNTIL I FOUND ONE THAT WORKED. I don't give a damn how a company markets. All I care about is if their products work.

Instead of dissing a company because of how they market, check out their products and see if they work. If they don't, then tell people on the boards. But it's a nutrient company, not an advertising company.

Advanced Nutrients reminds me of monster cables, the company that sells HDMI cables for $200+ (something you can buy for $3 from other companies) simply because people don't know any better and stores like best buy push them hard core and say they are needed for better HD tv. lulz.

I use AN and have great results. They are expensive but I've been doing this for a year now and still have my micro grow and bloom bottle just under half full, I've gone through 3 liters of sensizym and 2 liters of big bud and 1 liter of overdrive(started using od half way through the year). So my nutes costs is super low, I use sunshine organics soil which is also expensive 30 bucks for 2.8 cubic feet but I yeild over a lb a light so I'm happy. Did a soil test once and my spendy dirt yeilded almost twice as much as the 15 dollar a bag stuff. Back to the subject i use much less nutes than my buddies who use other brands like gh or technafolra.

Dude I bought monster cables for my amp/guitar and those supposedly golden badass jacks went out less than 2 months with corrosion. 100 bucks out the door. My 20dollar cables still work.

thanks everyone, i reped(lol almsot typed raped) u all. only reason i have AN's overdrive is cause my kit from htg supply came with it. i use it along with fox farm big bloom, grow big, and tiger bloom. so far no complaints but that tiger bloom you have to be careful not to use too much. but thats fox farm and another story. money isnt really an issue for me, anytime i need something my patient pays for it. but i try my best to make sure im not over spending.

i do like the comparison to the cables lol. so many people try telling me those cables give better quality but hardly anyone believes me when i tell them i can get them the a lower quality made cable but for like 10% of the price that you should never have to replace, and have the exact same picture/sound quality just from ebay.

Here: Go Organic I'm a fan of HTG Supply myself and buy almost all of my shit there. $30 bucks for the box, mix at half the recomended dose and your good to go. Only drawback is the stuff smells like stinky feet :)
