Why did I have an out of body experience, along with vivid "dreams" my first time.

This was thirteen years ago, but I've been scratching my head ever since. I had an out of body experience my first time with cannabis. It was the very first effect I felt, only seconds after finishing an entire blunt to the head. I went from normal, to 10-15 feet above my head in a blink. It only lasted a few seconds, but it scared the shit out of me. During this first time, I also experienced intense "dreams" or "hallucinations" after I had layed down on my bed to try and calm myself. I was in outer space with dozens of people I knew... It felt **VERY** real. It stopped when I opened my eyes, but started right back where it left off when I closed them again.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone else here experienced something similar to this as a result of cannabis?

2. Is their a scientific explanation? Could my brain have released DMT or some similar chemical?

yeah i tripped pretty badly the first time i smoked , it was hash , on a gravity bong , i was proper fucked up . intense hallucinations , room spinning, i threw up and just lay on a stairway insanely out of my mind tripping in and out of consciousness ......never been able to get that effect from weed for the next 20 odd years , even though i doubt i would really want to, it wasn't a nice experience lol thought at the time i had been spiked with something , but i definitely had not , i guess its your body and mind coping with this new substance

Actually. Yes. Hear me out. I haven't experienced this from weed ALONE. However. This guy that I have known him and his family for about 10 years, his older brother said that he smoked weed once and after about 2 minutes couldnt tell if his eyes were open or closed and he said that he was in a dream world of sorts for a couple hours. I dont remember the full details, but it sounds kind of like what you are talking about.

Now me, I know for a fact your brain 'clicks' sometimes. One time on DXM, when I was roughly sixteen, I remember my mom was out of town so I was going hardcore mode with my DXM usage. This night was different than any other night in the whole dxm phase that I had. I took a considerably low amount, and then took one hit of weed.
A tiny bit later, I felt my brain just go *JOLT* And these psychedelic colors and patterns where ferociously bleeding out of everything. I heard this electrifying.. Agelic, tribal woman singing with this intense background music. I dont remember what it sounded like, but it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. It was just like if youve ever lucid dreamed and turned shuffle on windows media player to see what comes out. Just it seemed even better!

This pillow on the coffee table was a hershies kiss, and it expanded, contracted. Over and over again. I mean REALLY though. Like 20 feet to 3 inches. Again and again. Then I must have passed out because I woke up later just really... Stricken.

You guys need to learn how to handle your shit.

I'm pretty sure your shit was laced also.

I don't think weed can cause hallucinations, but if it can I know its extremely mild and in huge doses. It isn't classified as an hallucinogenic nor have I seen anyone have that happen.

But what would be the chances that my first time was laced, but never again- despite thousands of smoking sessions- did I ever smoked laced weed again? That's highly unlikely to me. I'm positive it was a result of it being my first time.

Cant say ive had an out of body experience from smoking weed directly, but the dreams when i first started smoking, were something in the ballpark of out of body experiences.

Cant say I would know about the chemical release,my guess would be that the pleasure receptors are getting a new type of stimulation when first smoking, so anything could be possible in those type of experiences.

I always hear this same thing from girls I work with, and kids. You were just super fucking high. You actually think you can have a ''out of body experience'' where you literally were watching yourself from above...... WTF is with people

well you did it right, but as for vivid dreams if only, i cant take that at this stage of my life. you need to be in a good place. if you like it, go 100% sativa and dream plant. but make sure your in a good point in your life because you might freak out.

The odds of your shit being laced the first time is higher then you think. Specially if you have friends that dabble or that like to fuck with people. As a first timer you don't know the difference between pot and laced pot.

Weed isn't an hallucinogenic. Except in high doses. Even for a first timer you'd need to eat 3 or 4 potent brownies then maybe. That's the only time I've heard of it causing hallucinations. They were also extremely mild.
