Why cant we legalize marijuana on the merits alone? Without any red herrings!

I'm definitely for legalization. I mean people are talking about taxes and all this other shit. I my eyes all that is still better than jail. All that is better than someone with a clean record being a felon over a plant. It's better than families being broken apart. If you want good pot your way then grow your own. You'd be able to do it easier and cheaper bc your wouldnt have to camouflage your grow with expensive shit. If you're worried about being outdone by wal mart or whoever then get a job.

i would name my plants, but if i got to that level of attachment i couldnt cut em down. i already appoligize when i chop em. i have a hard time killing plants. animals can run, deffend themselfs, and so on.if you have to kill a animal to eat or deffend yourself, thats life. but the stationary, defenceless nature of plants makes it really tough for me to chop em. theres no way plants can wrong you (except poison ivy) so i really feel like a asshole when cutting em...

No, I wouldn't buy at wal mart. I'd grow it myself. If people want to get lower quality stuff it their choice. And trust me, if it were legal I'm sure their would be businesses that grow great pot that would stay in business bc people want good weed. Wal mart could never have a monopoly on weed bc people can always grow it their way and make superior weed. And isn't that what true timers want? I do, I want the best weed.

You're right, I don't care what you call me per say, but when the stoner label has been attached to the definitions I outlined
by the mainstream for decades there needs to be a shift in mentality. Some of the smartest, well educated and successful people
I know are smokers. They are not dumb, or burn outs.

I would defend most people here from being called stoners as the stereotype portrays. Most people here are smart, well spoken idividuals
that do not deserve the handle.

I'm with you a 100% on this, very few are criminals, it's a rairity regardless of the size of a grow a person has. A person growing pot is only guilty of taking part of a victimless crime. The vast majority of pot growers would get ate alive if there was real crime involved in the trade, because they are nothing but regular people. Regardless of some of the internet tough talk.

I still believe it should be legalized, but without some circle jerk of a government control board, plant number limits, and the individual should be free to sell it to who they wish. Make them pay taxes on income, but allow all tax write offs that other businesses enjoy.

They dont grow it, nor will they. The investment in land is enough for them not to. Vendors want to maximize profit, so yes they will buy low
but they wont produce.

The big farmers are who will come in and get a cut, not the walmarts or other vendors, but small farmers also have a stake in grain markets and have not been forced out by the large farmers. The smart ones grow, it's all relative.

I know what your saying, I just used walmart as a vendor.
See I don't have a problem with people making money from bud, in fact
as you know here in Canada the laws are being rewritten in a way that will
allow Pharma to gain a strangle hold on the market by eliminating personal med grows.

However, Health Canada is also getting out of the business,
this allows room for peeps like yourself to get in early. Completely legit, above
the radar. Taxed on the income and the appropriate write offs that a business
enjoys. Incorporate that business and your personal risk and corporate taxes go down.

I want the little guys to get in and develop proper competitive businesses before
the big guys monopolize. Kush, you have an opportunity to be the vendor without the risks
of jail, busts or loss.

Even if you're not the one selling at the market or dealing market level, you might be able to be
the farmer. (Pretty tough to do right now though I think, that aspect may never happen due to quality
controls)

I just don't want to be jailed for a natural plant,hobby or the desire to enjoy something
that doesn't hurt others. I really don't want to be known as the stereotypical stoner either.
