MONTELLO — Four Westfield residents face criminal charges after authorities said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in their home.
Arrested Friday were: William T. Kovacic, 35; Jennifer G. Diaz, 35; Jacob Bowersox, 20; and Sonia R. Diaz, 18.
Investigators with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Westfield Police Department say they found more than 9 grams of marijuana along with paraphernalia during a search Friday morning of the home where the four residents live on Main Street in Westfield.
Marquette County Sheriff Kim Gaffney said no one was injured and that the search and arrests went smoothly.
“It’s part of an ongoing investigation” into the use of illegal drugs in Marquette County, Gaffney said. “We’re glad that we can try and make an impact.”
According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, investigators found a total of 9.5 grams of marijuana, rolling papers, and a marijuana pipe in addition to other items.
Kovacic and Jennifer Diaz each face 1 1/2 years in prison as an initial sentence on a felony charges of possession of THC (marijuana) as a second and subsequent offense, and 30 days in jail on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Each is scheduled for an initial appearance June 4.
Bowersox is scheduled for an initial appearance June 13 on misdemeanor charges of possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
Sonia Diaz is tentatively charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
According to court records, Kovacic was convicted in October 2008 in Marquette County of possession of THC.

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Lol well what 4 of them had priors that got them and one more jumped bail. Then if they had priors and were with other felons you go to lock up just because then if the 9 grams was not claimed and in the house public domain then its on everyone. Kind of like you see these jerks asses living with their parents secretly growing weed in their parents house. That can make the parents loose the house cars bank accounts and get charged.

I jsut don't get why the war on drugs is actually just a war on MJ..lets try to knock out the hard drug usage in america...let's get crackheads to stop robbing people, and meth addicts to stop blowing up their neighbors...lol.

1,5 years in jail for possessing mj, absolute insanity.. i know, they had priors, but the priors were also for possession of mj, which there really shouldn't be such a charge imo.
and 30 days for papers... 30 fucking days for having some rolling papers?? anyone else as pissed about this as i am??

what state is that in as i'm not familiar with that town at all??

I believe Wisconsin. And they're not cigarette papers, they're DRUG PARAFUCKINALIA!!!! So there's a difference ;).

Now will the state hunt down the distributors of this dangerous DRUG PARAFUCKINALIA!!!??? And will they forfeit the taxes they collected on the sale of it and donate it to a rehab center/women's shelter?

All joking aside 30 days for papers is beyond outrage. Completely pointless bullshit charges that do nothing but make big budgets for little towns courtesy of their state laws.
