Don't take it personally mate :) I'm not talking about quality.
In sheer quantity the amounts home growers grow are a drop in the ocean.

If you've ever seen those cannabis slave farms when they find one, they have hundreds, thousands of plants in each one, and hundreds and thousands of farms.
How many plants each home grower has? 10? 20? 50?

I don't really think there's much to tell, just google UK cannabis and this is what you find:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1329018/Pictured-Britains-biggest-cannabis-farm--2m-worth-weed.html

8000 plants in one farm.

http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/cannabis-farms-london-vietnam
HUNDREDS of slaves.

And these are just the ones they caught.

It's possible you're in the bubble of the growers community and are not aware of what is happening in the streets.

All is cool, I guess it matters not when any of us think, the primo is grown with love at home, the rubbish is grown by exploited people trying to make a better life for themselves in our beautiful country.

I did read the article and I am skepticle of there being thousands of farms growing thousands of pounds. Could I be wrong? Yup, but I'm skepticle lol. We have supposedly lots of grows here as well ran by eastern cultures but I don't see lots getting busted, legal next year so that should put a dent in profits lol.

One of the UK crime tricks is to offer a person (usually a single mother) living in council housing a large % at the end of the grow. They do everything and often are the only ones with a key to that room/s.
They harvest and the person who lives there gets nothing except an expensive power bill and a huge mess. They get used.
They also use violence and intimidation. Was a doco on a few months ago about it.

Of course there is violence, it's an illegal highly profitable business sooooo just legalize it, no myth there lol. I know I would be pretty much done next year if I wasn't already retired other than a couple of friends who happen by. We were lucky that we only encountered issues once with bikers but that didn't amount to much, once we poured them a glass of wine lol.

Actually the Asians do grow some pretty good weed here, well they did, I haven't bought or sold any quantity in 15 years or so. So myth huh, let's see ..... harvesting due to moon phase.... if it's like my solunar tables for fishing/hunting, well let's say I'm again skepticle lol.

I've shared a few here, yes tid bits lol. It's been fun for the most part. Started growing to sell at 14, used the old mans rototiller and even ran string lines to make the rows straight lol.

You go right ahead.
We are in a drought at the moment. which is why I am planting outdoors in winter.
We at least get a small drizzle every now and then in winter and the soil stays soft. We are also in temperate weather. If I were to plant in spring, the plants will be burned dead by summer. I've seen the heat and drought kill trees this year. Dixie cup mangled roots would be a death knell here.

I see what you mean. I live in the subarctic, so I grow indoors. I like to start seeds in party cups and up-pot as soon as the roots shoot out the drainage holes.

Waaaaay to late if you can see the roots on the surface of the root ball when you take it out of the cup.
It is a bit like Japanese footbinding.
