Hello, not sure how to do this, so just using "post reply". Many moons ago, I used flour. tubes in a closet, never let them go to bud, and picked all tops touching bulbs every few days. After months, the top of the 2 foot plants looked like a hedge, many branches flat topped.
I am going 400/hps/MH/tent. Can I pinch to increase bushiness?
second question...I used to grow outside. When they were 5 feet, I'd take most of the fan leaves off. I notice in many pics that there are a lot of fan leaves left on many plants. Is there a reason to keep fan leaves on? And if I take them off, do I wait for 18/6 down to 12/12? I used to let The sun do all that timing for me.

Ok quick question for the soil gurus in here. Ive got 10 plants that are 1 month into veg. They are in a mixture of roots Organic, Sunshine mix #4 and fox farms Ocean Forrest all in equal parts potted in 4 gallon pots. I have a question about feeding nutes. I am useing Generals flouranova nutes and have watered them with this 1 time at 600 ppm 6 days ago. Its time for another hit with water and I want to know if I should continue with the 600 PPM mixture or increase it. I saw very light burning uf just the very tips of a few plants..other plants have a few yellowing lower leaves...this one is Blue Cheese. It is also lighter in green and so is the super silver haze but it has no yellowing of the lower leaves....just slightly lighter green then some of the other plants. Overall they all look pretty good after the watering last week at 600 PPM.

I know one of my problem is that I have 10 plants and each is a different strain. The nice person that gave me the clones was being really nice but its gonna be hard for me to learn how to treat 10 different strains while its my first grow. I learn fast and understand how to ph and adjust the PPM and have all the digital devices needed.

So what do you think...hit em again with 600 PPM this week and save the last 2 plants with the nitrogen deficancy ( lighter green leaves ...1 with yellowing lower leaves ) and hit these 2 plants with 700 ppm nutes?

So in soil how does it go for feeding....nutes 1 feeding...nutes the next....nutes the next then flood with water the next to clear the salts and stabalize the soil then continue with nutes slightly higher PPM the next watering? This is what my plan is at the moment. I have to water tommorow for sure as they are getting really dry and light weight pots now.

Thanks guys for the help. Especially the ones who stay here and help the new guys like myself. I will be here helping others someday soon.....spread the love :weed:around...and make it legal...Cheers

Here.... hit this mother and pass it :joint:

What should I look for, in details, if I am to build my own light assembly. Buy a hood, a ballast, good bulbs.. I plan to use in a 3x3x7 Grow Tent housing 1-4 plants tops, Currently 1. I see the best deals thread so I understand thats where i can look afterwards. thanks

You should probably back off the nutes a little...especially because you're getting close to harvest...go down to 3/4 strength and gradually decrease concentration before the final flush...as for the white "spots", I wouldn't worry about it for the time being, but if it starts to spread and worsens(which I hope it doesn't) check back and I'll help to further diagnose and alieve the problem...Hope this helps and GL!

dude that batwing is awesome. Looks like a great idea, but say im willing to spend around 2-300 bucks for professional type hardware what would you recommend? 400 or 600 watt light system? and you seem to say air cooled hood right? What about a fan n such to power it? I usually get into details about all things i work with, and buying these parts is new to me and alot of the threads dont go into the full detail a person like you could answer. Thanks man!

oh ok, i thought you wanted to make it yourself.
but i think if you can handle the heat, go with 600. even 1000, but heat is a pretty big issue in closet/stealth grows

i have a 400w hps inside of my closet, the hood is a hydrofarm brand air-coolable hood - vent grills.. i rigged it up with my 400CFM centrifugal fan.
without the glass shield/fan my temps would easily pass 95+.. but with them, i can manage 83 or lower. although.. i usually turn on my AC and get 73-76.
i would suggest getting an air cooled hood with a glass shield and a pretty nice fan just dedicated to venting out the heat from the bulb.
but it really depends on what time of the year it is.. summer gets really hot in my area.. so you have to factor that in too

also.. i just found this thread a couple days ago.. not mine hahah

edit: also for boom..

View attachment 1077948View attachment 1077949hi having some trouble getting anything to really happen, have got a 400w hps light growing in coco, extraction fan, fan blowing plants, been feeding dutchmaster a,b grow and have started feeding with rhizo and misting with rhizo. temp is between 25-28. Clones i recieved got very stressed have started to turn and am currently trying to turn bak at the usul 18/6. very tipps of the leaves have gone slightly yellow possible due to to much nute, plants are just not really growing at all and dont really seem to be turning bak as the leaves are not like the usual shade leaves but are crystly n smelly. any advice appreciated cheers! The bigger one is a clone a recieved bout a week ago n seems to be doing much better as it got transplanted and under the light starait away, but the other dismal looking 1 went n n out was gettn room ready, is there any way to accelerate the turning bak/ growth of the one that is truned?

Whats yellowing in lower leaves caused by. Not just the small stem leaves I am haveing yellowing of a few of the bigger leaves. I am think nitrogen deficiency but not positive. Whats the best way to fix this? Just increase the ppm of veg nutes? I am growing in soil and am useing advanced flouranova nutes. This particular plant is also slightly lighter green then the others in my grow. Its the only plant of this strain that I have also...Blue Cheeze. I also waited 1 day to long to water these plants..not good but they look better today...reaching leaves instead of drooping wilted leaves.

Well 1 week ago today I turned my plants to flower. Mid last week I noticed one of my plants was starting to get a little droopy. Still nice and green though. I figured they were probably lacking in nutrients so I went and picked up some Tiger Bloom. I was using Grow Big throughout the vegging. The plant seemed to perk up a little bit when I fed it the TB and GB. Got home from work today and the same plant and 1 other are now very droopy. Still dark green though. They were very dry so I watered them and that's where I am at now. They have been growing great until now. It seems to be mainly the bottom leaves but the tops aren't as stout as they should be. Any help?

I've got them on 12/12 with 10 2700k CFLs. Daytime temps get to around 90 and night time around 78. I know those aren't ideal but that's as cool as I can get them. I don't have any pics to post, lost my camera over the weekend.

I was thinking that maybe I am not watering them enough...? I just didn't want to overwater so I was waiting until the soil was pretty dry.

Now this morning I have a few more yellow leaves on 1 of the plants. I don't know what to do. Not spotty yellow but yellow like they are dead.

thanks for your advice. theworst part was out of 10 plants only THREE FEMALES, but I boought bubble bags and beat the crap out of my boys and got some quite good stuff, would recommend bubblebags £18 off ebay ! never throw any of your trim away , good wayto be stress and the stuff is quite a good smoke, ok to use when u r waiting for the girls to do their thing. Bloody hell, mine are really tall, I know I didn't turn them quick enough, but I will know next time. I have cutting from my girls and they are doing really well, they will be readyto go in when my first lot are done, also some more seeds different type this time are being split for the next lot. Getting the hang of this, u hvae to learn by your mistakes, but u will only ever make them once :) xxx

Ok so my question kind of pertains to grazza's question. As i have read, the best way to germinate is to use rockwool from the beginning. So what i did was, soaked the rockwool in a 5.5 ph solution for an hour, shuck a little bit then planted the seed. This will still allow the seed to pop and germinate correct? The only question after that is how often to i "water" and or "feed" until seedling. As you can tell i am a rookie but i am a fast learner. I have read the entire indoor section of the bible, but they dont explain in detail. Therefore, i must refer to the pros! Any info would help. Thanks
