Anybody using a DC Fan and they know their Pressure Rating as well?

PC grow , Cab, Tent?

Just curious, not looking for the Walmart DIY link either , that's NOT what I am looking for.

Just looking for some feedback, thanks! :leaf:

a DIY carbon filter with a computer fan...??? Now I've heard it all ;)

I used to have a carbon filter I built myself. It worked great, but probably didn't have the most optimal flow. I had it hooked up to a 4" blower. I don't remember the cfm rating, But seriously dood, Carbon filters are cheap, I'll smoke a carbon filter in one session ;)

I really like my phat filter. not the answer you were probably looking for. But just know that any DIY carbon scrubber will 'most likely' either not have such a great cfm rating, or not filter all that well. You can find all the flanges, and ducting you'll need at home depot obviously. some sort of sealant, and then the activated carbon. some Duh-ct tape.

Thanks but that didn't answer my question.

I already have built several successful blowers/pc fan scrubbers combo's. Adjustable pots, etc. I was just wondering who is having some success and might post up that experience.

I have grown under 2000w's in a 8x8 room where you were blowing 800cfm fans ok, not the same as a 3.6 sq. ft cabinet with 6 cu ft or so. The air exchange capabilities and pressure changes lend to a smaller fan. Yes, most PC fans are garbage for this. However, if you know your pressure rating, it is simply just a math problem of figuring your volume, with fan power and carbon density and wa la. But just saying they don't have optimal flow is disingenuous at best.

You shouldn't be "smokin" a filter every session, something aint right either.

I have no problem with "why" you posted. Just that for the sake of everyone, why not post "why" it can't be done. Instead of just blathering?

Tell me about room changes and negative pressure, heat and condensation and fan pressure per inches of atmosphere. Just don't say it can't be done. Fawk.

Thanks for shitting in my thread.

Run along now, I will stop posting. I am sure you have some other buzzing to do in some one else's screen. Thanks for the input. S-t-a-t-i-c
