Some plants will yeald out just fine with low levels of light - 400's - 600's while others will do a percentage better by using higher light levels. More power, more buds --- 4 x 6 no problem

Water cooled lights (pain in the ass to set up and understand) but work well . Its is possible to run 12 in a room and cool that rm with 24000 BTU's of cooling. That 12 would be # 12 1000w lamps producing 3400 of heat to total 40800 BTU's of heat.
Plastic lenses should be kept under pressure 24/7, use a res & water to water heat exchanger to cool - lower ph of res & it keeps lenses clean

All HPS produce 1.4 lumens per watt

my 600 watt sodium sunmaster produces 90,000 lumens on a lumatek digi ballast, not using the super lumen switch! a thousand watt produces 145,000 lumens so i guess pound per lumen the 6's win hands down! 2 600's =1200 watt = 180.000 lumens for only 200 watt more electricity ?

Once upon a time there was company know as Sun Light Supply which had this amazing lamp, burned like a 1500 w ran like 1000w. It was bullshit, we tested it and found that it used 12.5 amps (12.5x120v=1500w) Every body found out, that company is now called Sun, some thing I forgot . What I am saying is that the 1.4 was an accepted no. and that changes from that are more in favor of other than it is to you. Its the liar who gets the money from the fool who listens.. I am saying check it out, get an amp meter clamp one wire take that reading x's 120v = watts . This my friend is the law (excuse my bad choice of words) This law is the real deal,get the meter and prove it.I got lots more but my Courvoisier is talkin to me

Hey I for got to say the Sum Light guys incressed uf or micro ferrets on the cap to make the lamp burn briter

One thousand watt hood provides deeper foilage penetration but obviously 2 600's would provide more surface area.. i guess it's to each his own choice.. i just thought that was a little fun fact..

I did an experiment with that too and it's true.. the 1000 does provide better penetration (you need a lumen catcher, meter, thing to measure it, I got it from my chem teacherkiss-ass) but technically you could fix that by putting the lights a little closer than you could with a thouey.. i don't think this really helped haha

I want to see what you guys say about my set up...

36"x20"x60" homemade tent with a cool tubed 600 HPS that I keep 10" from the tops of my babies... I even have seedling in there with an opaque humidome...

I can set and maintain any temp between 65F and 95F, with the help of thermostatically intake & exhaust fans...

@ 95,000 lumens and a 5 square foot area...

You could say I have 19,000 lumens per square foot... or that I have 120 watts per square foot...

And guess what...?!?!?!

All I have is explosive growth in the vegg phase...

I can't wait to turn the switch to flower mode...

So remind me about too much light... and bleaching and burning and what else???
