White Powdery Mildew ?

Been a while since I've been here, but have a question none the less---
I'm expierencing a "White Powdery Mildew" on some of the shade leaves in my growroom--- just a couple, (seems to be isolated to just a few) doesn't seem to be contagious at all, and doesn't seem to bother the overall health of the plant--- looks like a small white splotch on the leaves,and comes off the leaves as a white powder looking substance..... plants are 2 months old, all are VERY healthy and doing above average for their ages. I've tried a solution of Hydrogen-Peroxide & Water, with little or no effect..... any ideas???

i used serenade for my pm prob and that worked for me but i have also heard of ppl using neem oil and sulfer burners to get rid of it

PM is highly contagious and it will grow and spread, and leave behind baby spores that will seek out your next grow. You must scrub down your grow area after this current grow. At least spray it down with a good H2O2 spray or bleach water. As for getting rid of it now, you can raise the PH level on the leaf surfaces so prevent it from growing and killing what you have. You can also go way down on PH the leaves, but that is riskier. To raise the ph, dilute baking soda in water in a 1:15 ratio and spray tops and bottoms of leaves. You'll need to foliar spray with plain water before a second application if needed, to prevent from closing the pores on the leaves surfaces.

Sulfur burns are for greenhouses or large grow operations, as the square footage covered can be huge. Burning sulfur in your home for a 4 x 4 garden is not recommended, unless you absolutely love the smell of sulfur in everything.

I wanted to add that H2O2 does indeed work for removing spots of PM. Try a stronger mix, using food grade H2O2, not the stuff you buy on the band aid aisle in CVS.

It might not seem bad now...But if you don't rid of it, it gets worst. I have tried it all. Sulfer burning works. I have even used it for preventive so they do not get it while later stages of flowering. Some strains are more acceptable than others...But the last thing you want is it popping up in your 6th week in flowering...then you r screwed. There's some really powerful shit out there Like Eagle 20, but it's a powerful fungicide...that stops it in is tracks. But it not organic & people tend to stay away from it. But If used it you'll never see it again. You can also get power form of sulfer & dilute w/ water & foliar spray. So there are many options. As downy said serenade is more organic...heard its help in some cases & not in others. Peace & Happy growing.

i love Serenade for PM, the bacteria stay alive until they have consumed all the fungus then they die. where most people run into trouble is they spray it once or twice, dont see any more PM so they figure its gone. you have to keep up regular spraying for at least 4 weeks to be rid of it. that is true for most sprays, one or two applications rarely remedies a problem.

i personally would not use anything on ur plants that is not organic. serenade is safe to use on fruits and veggis so i know its safe for my plants. my philosophy is if it's safe to eat then it should be fine to smoke

^Aside from all those, which are good, solid recommendations, start using neem, as well. I've used it in very mild PM situations, and it worked beautifully. It works much better if you start using it beforehand, because it'll help prevent the problem from ever happening(also keeps mites away, too), due to it being absorbed, and stored, within the plant, for the duration of the grow. At any rate,...if you have high humidity and low airflow, PM will almost always be a risk. Try keeping your humidity a little below 50%, and up the air circulation, in addition to all your other combatants, and you should be able to stop the PM rather quickly. I keep my veg around 45%, always, and never have had an issue. That one time I did have to deal with it, was when I took some clones off a buddy, who had them growing outside(risky, I know.lol).

Someone has told me that baking soda and water works, spraing them twice daily, and removing with clean sponge. I have tried and it seems to be working. Haven't got the finished result yet.

Can you still smoke the buds if they have a very small amount of the powdery mildew on the leaves or is it an absolute No?

Mildew cure is what I use.. OMRI listed until the day of harvest.

i wouldnt smoke it...could be dangerous but thats just me...ive heard ppl say they went to the hospital because they smoked moldy bud but ive also heard ppl say its not that bad.....like i said i wouldnt do it but thats just me....you could ask your doctor if u have one....

i use serenade for my pm problems and its works great for me....i have heard of ppl useing neem oil(works better as a preventitive), sulfer burners, serenade, eagle 20, h2o2, and some other water/baking soda mixes but i have not heard of rosemary oil....
