Exactly my reaction! Knowing my luck, it was probably not converted right from GBP's. I looked at the links above for GrowSmartHydro and they are out of their mind with those prices.

For me and hydro, that would be a big NO. It contains organic ingredients like coir and earthworm castings. I dint want anything that will contaminate my tanks. But that is me. I have already fought my battles with slime when trying to run some GH Flora Nectar. Really jacked stuff up for me. Took lots of flushing and H2O2 to get things back to normal. I am currently only Rockwell and hydroton, until the fytocell becomes available.
Looks like a good mix though.

yeah those earthworm castings are definitely the nail in the coffin i dont want to use those either after you explain it like that cause im using h202 also. dankhoe, so did you decide to go with the perlite? i was talkin to the guy at the hydro store and he told me that it acts exactly like hydroton is that true? i would only want to start using that if it acted like a sponge like fytocell does.

worst case scenario im thinking of a hydroton/rockwool mix or a perlite/rockwool mix, what are your thoughts on this? i gotta hurry up and figure this out cause ima bout to take clones for the next crop

Went to the Mexico website to order. Shipping is ridiculous at the moment. 2 - 20liter bags at a cost $20.00US, costs $46.41 to ship. Might bite for the shipping just to get a couple of bags in.
Curious to see what Al B is paying in Austr.
This stuff sure is cheap though. I hope the pricing is close to what is listed now. $10.00 per 20 liter bag. $30.00 per 100 liter bag. Amazing

To anyone else interested, please know that there are two versions of this stuff. Hydroflakes, which is intended for soil mix, and Hydroflakes PLUS, which was developed for soil-less mediums.

Yep, I can read Spanish. Benefit of the restaurant world. Plus spent some time in Costa Rica. You can change the currency on the site but not the language.

Yes I could have ordered. But, did not want to spend 49 bucks shipping on a 30 dollar order. In the mean time, gonna try out these Growstones samples I got from my local shop. Either popping a mom in or letting this Pakistani auto run out in it as a test run. Want to wait for US site to see if shipping is going to be any cheaper.

I hope they work for you. I tried the grow bags once and ended up having to cut the bottom open to let roots expand. Plus, I could never get my runoff balanced. Just wasn't my thing. The dry pack is a novel concept though.

i just got them in the mail. im kind of mad cause i thought they would be a little taller after they got wet. im not feeling comfortable using these as they are and i cant find a place that sells the 6 inch ones. you dont by any chance know where i can get the 6" ones do you? if not i might have to get some pots and put something under the blocks

Just ordered 1cu ft bag of Sure to Grow Hail from their website. They have a first bag 50% thing going on. Stuff looks interesting. I have seen the blocks at my local shop, but did not know the hydroton size stuff was made. Cool thing is they have loose flock and cylinder plugs in various sizes to fit all sizes if airpots. Supposedly, they have something called Lytocell, which is the organic form if it made from wood fiber.
