Your gonna ruin the springs in those magazines! Do you rotate them out? BIG SMILE
They aren't full mags, the 30 rounders only have 20 in them, the 20's only have 15.
I go through about 7-9,000 rounds per season. I don't do much rifle shooting when it gets below zero here, we have an indoor range for pistols so I burn quite a few 9mm and .45 ammo there in winter. I used to have a Glock .40 ( MODEL 22), but had it stolen about 17 years ago and never got another semi auto in .40 again. My absolute personal favorite handgun is my old Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm. This one was made all in W Germany, before the fall of the Berlin wall and before things moved state side. It fits me so well its like an extension of my hand. I try to hit tennis balls at 75 meters with it and are quite successful. Anyway I have some hunting rifles( Remington 700 BDL in .308/Kimber 84M in .308 ) and shotguns too(Browning a5 12g, Browning BPS 12g, Remington 1100 20g), I don't own any blackpowder guns though. Got some bows too, recurve and compound.

My favorite plinking gun is a Smith and Wesson MP15-22. Load up 30 rounds of CCI super stingers and gopher shoot all day long, that little ar-15 wannabe is a fun little gun that works superbly.

I still want a m14, a Ruger Blackhawk .357 3 screw with 6" barrel in nickel plate, and a Russian Dragunov in 7.62x54mm. Hell any gun I see that I don't have i want, its a sickness I tell you. And I don't need all those guns, I just like to clean them and operate them and look at them sometimes. I get mesmerized by the simplistic design of the Kalashnikov and then even more so by My Sig 556 and its amalgamation of the AR and the AK, best of both worlds. Its a passion you could say.

I've always thought about shit like this but I thought it was just paranoia. How do you store mass amounts of water? Do you buy bottled water and just keep stockpiling that shit? Or do you just get huge tubs and fill with tap from your sink etc?

I bought a 300 gallon tank from US plastics.

How would you go about keeping the water fresh? Cause I've left cups of water around for a week or so and they start to smell a bit..
My plan is to fill it with RO water. It is black so algae should not be able to grow. I might throw a sanitizer in it but I have sanitizing tabs if something were to get into it.

The air will leave the water and it will taste stale unless shaken up but it is still perfectly good.

Ah, thanks for the info. So basically water can never go bad unless something like bacteria or other organisms get into the water and contaminate it? In which case you can boil the water before drinking right?

I had an argument with a friend about this once...

Water is H2O... It is simply a molecule of hydrogen combined with 2 molecules of oxygen. How could it possibly go *bad*???

The only ways he could come up with is larval infestation such as mosquitoes (which is not going to happen in a sealed container) or algae. The only thing that happens to H20 is that the extra O2 (oxygen) dissipates out of the liquid over a period of days to months which leaves it flat and stale tasting. Take that water and put it in a container and shake it up to oxygenate it and voila!!! Fresh water.

Now, you can go on the internet and read about water going *bad* and it is from companies that tell you that you need to put some sort of sanitizer in the water on a regular basis. ER: they want to sell ya something..

If anyone has any info that could refute this I would be interested in reading it.

You can keep water sterile by putting silver coins in it. Maybe Add 7 drops of chlorine bleach to every few gallons of drinking water and other methods you can find here: http://www.nationalterroralert.com/safewater/

My solution is not to store any more water than a weeks worth. I have a 20 gal/hour RO system and bought 3 extra RO membranes and filters to go with it. Add to that a 3500 watt solar system and water pump. Live next to a river so water shouldn't be too much of a problem here. You have to figure 75 gallons per person per month just to have the minimum needed.

You should be fine... I live in a desert.

300 gallons + 55 & 14 gallons of RO + 50 gallon water heater gives me over 400 gallons.

I always wanted to get a SKS, the prices on them have skyrocketed lately.
I remember when you could buy them all day long for 75$ i had one that i tricked out with a drilled mount scope, folding stock. It was really sharp, but real heavy. If i had to carry a rifle around all day it would be an ar-15, but if i was in a fight i would rather have an sks (way more reliable). I would not carry an ar-15 if i did'nt carry a Beretta 92FS that pistol has never jammed on me after at least 1000 rounds fired. My AR-15's are real nice, but not reliable enough to bet my life on.

SKS's are awesome...that sucks about your ar's man..you should get them reliable..Ive had my Daniel Defense M4 for about a year now, have fired 1000's of rounds(bulk to tracer, steel and brass case)and have NEVER had misfire or jam..my bushmasters and DPMS are all tip top as well...no problems whatsoever. i was one of those AK guys that would never buy an AR because of the reliability factor...then i finally owned a few and its changed my mind.
