Ok, so I am new to the grow game and I was interested in what is the best medium to grow in. I'll start off first by saying that
I'm really not sure if that is the right term ''medium'' but what I am talking about is a pot for example. I have one plant in a 5 gal. pot
and I want to upgrade but I want to know if there are better choices than pots.

Open for insults on medium lol!

Your medium generally refers to what you will be growing in ie. soil, coco, hydroton/water, etc. I think you're asking what kind of pot/container you should transplant into. That my friend is a very open ended question. You need to be more specific on what you're using, how big do you plan on your plants getting, how long you plan on having your plants, things of this nature. 73 views and no replies makes me think you need to rephrase your question and ask again.

sunshine pro mx#4 not fox farm.....although this sight will have u believe that cause that what most noobs use

Thank you very much! appreciate the info and will remake the topic!

I agree - start again with a better phrased question because this > > "What's the best type of medium?" causes people to get into fist fights around here.

After your initial question give as much pertinent data as you can to ensure you get the best (most accurate) responses.

And welcome to RIU my friend.

everyone likes to use something different, i personally have found that a simple, very inexpensive grow medium is a equal parts mix of vermiculite, perlite, and warm castings. All are usually available at any flower shop or store like Lowes. Makes a great mix that all my plants have loved to grow in

as far as containers to grow in, i HIGHLY recommend Superoots AirPots hands down

The reason I ask is I have a system & layout built around a specific container dimension.
I like the smartpots & would like to try them, but they have to "fit my shit" and a quick perusal of their website revealed none.
