It appears to me that indeed the , 23, 26, and 42 watt bulbs spread the light around more evenly if enough are used. I'm seeing alot of grows here that utilize these wattages or combinations of them with great results.

My system will have a main 125 watt cfl hood, but only to help my learning curve as I'm new at growing anything indoors ( it's not nearly as adjustable and bigger, heavier). It will be supplimented by six 26 watt cfls placed around the area, and I hope to end up just using the smaller wattages to replace it later. I figure that roughly around 300 watts used won't be too much of a power increase for me ( raise my bill between 6 to 10 bucks a month or so) but I'm not sure what that would yield, I'd hope that between 2.5 to 4 ounces of dried/cured harvest could be acheived with a three to four plant scrog design. It's 2 per plant as Kaleo suggests with the big one for support.

Anyway...lol...those are my thoughts...:-P

CFL's rock!

weird iv never seen one of those....wonder how well they work.. and i use 16 cfls started with 12 6500k 23w and 4 2700k 42w. and then when i went to flowering i swapped them to the opposite 12 2700k and 4 6500k. and it has worked pretty good for me..i started with 7 plants and ended up with 2 females so now iv got an excessive amount of light...but i figure the more the better lol. and my bill has only gone up about 15 dollars from the lights...the main thing that is runnin up my bill is runnin my ac 247 because otherwise my closet gets to hott

I use a twin 250watt cfl reflector for the first week of veg, beats all other lights hands down, and i mean ALL. I move on to Hps then...

my pleasure...and yes they are good. Non-biased reviews are rare from retailers, they use products before selling them.

can't tell you the best cause haven't tried them all, but don't overlook the 26w GE/Walmart special
$13 for 6 bulbs or so, but these are kickass little bulbs, 2700k so best for flowering
they list 1750 initial lumens for 67.3 lumens/watt, that's real good compared to most cfl's
for evidence, this was flowered under 78w(3 26w) of GE cfl's, with a lot of reflector
