The book by Jorge Cervantes is good, especially for your first book because it covers all the bases.

Marijuana specific books are a waste of money imo. Especially Jorge Cervantes, I'm pretty sure that guy doesn't even grow.
Edit: There are exceptions. Mel Frank is a good example. He's an actual horticulturist, but wouldn't you want to learn how he learned?

If you want to grow soil organics, then I highly recommend these books:
http://www.soilfoodweb.com/resources.html
Understanding the microbiology and how it affects plants is extremely important. Book #7 is probably has the most all around benefit. Books two and three will help for your "nutrients" and understanding of nutes.

You want to learn something about genetics besides the basic punnett squares?
http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=Genetics:+from+Genes+to+Genomes&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=10449590627361183158&sa=X&ei=XU_eTtCrKOeOsQK1xuCZBw&ved=0CDkQ8wIwAQ

Now that you have your grow medium down, you should probably learn a little about light refraction and plants reaction to light.
http://www.amazon.com/Molecular-Mechanisms-Photosynthesis-Robert-Blankenship/dp/0632043210/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323192230&sr=1-3

Now that you know how to breed, have a medium down, and know something about your light source you could read mj specific books to learn about their optimal environment conditions.

I got Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook. It's the textbook for Oaksterdam University.
Tons of information.

Hey unohu69, I did a google search as well as a general torrent search on a couple universal sites and couldn't find any reference to the Ultimate Waterfarm & scorg guide - Scottyballs. Is there a pointer you can provide to find that one by chance?

I believe I got that through a link here on RIU. The pdf was created by a reader of scottyballs.

I have gathered some of the best ganja books out there, sometimes searching dark recesses of the net to find them, while torrents are a integral part of that, I usually find shit buried deep, on a remote website somewhere. If I can manage to find the damn bookmark I will either post it or PM you if you have enough posts by then.

i think you need 50 posts before you can get PM's.

I highly recommend The Garden Saver, by Ed Rosenthal. It's a great reference book. I attended a class Ed taught in my area. Great person! peace

Thanks unohu69, I was wondering why I couldn't PM you instead of posting in the thread. I don't have much to post yet as I am new to hydroponic growing, and well can't do much without seeds or clones anyways (hard to find when you actually want them! ha ha). The last seed I tried germinated but didn't grow past a half inch before dying in the coco peat. If I can ever get anything to grow I'll be using a waterfarm which is why your post sounded so interesting for my situation.

Is it frowned upon to use sites like mediafire.com or rapidfire.com and to host the pdf and post the link here? Just curious still new enough I'm not sure of the general etiquette here (every site is different).

I think I found it with some more searching, is this it?

https://viewer.zoho.com/docs/rZH0i

I think it was the mistyping of scrog as scorg that made the initial search not work. Weird thing is that I also remember changing it to scrog last night and it still didn't work, so don't know why it worked all of a sudden. Anyways on to some reading!
