Whatever happened to prophecy

A calming peice, i needed that. you are wise. Sometimes you forget to ask yourself, what would jesus do.bongsmilie Me smoke'm peace pipe now.

heres a question to ponder

if you cant even trust the media of your own time, how can you trust a book which is a hodge poge of story's written thousands of years ago at different times and then nit picked and chosen by a corrupt church to be combined into one book called the bible,

they even left out texts that were not to thier liking

so then you take this redicules book and base you whole life upon it and train your kids lives on it without a cintila of evidence

if you have a brain then think about it and let me know your thoughts on the subject.

"if you have a brain then think about it and let me know your thoughts on the subject."

The Bible can be read from two perspectives, or levels, if you will. One level is of this secular world and reads more like a history book. The other level is the spiritual one. In order to read and comprehend the Bible from the spiritual level, one must be walking on that narrow spiritual path known as "The State of Grace." Once read from the spiritual level, the Bible becomes much more than mere words. It becomes an inspiration.

yes, I believe Jesus Christ definatly existed, i just see how supersticious people even today are and how rumers spread even today in places like Iraq, which makes me question what is really true about the man jesus and what is fable & ledgend

Not really claiming to have more than a few cells left, But, The Bible has some good points in it. In fact it "signed" to me once, actually saved my brothers life. The real deal with any book is to read it with an open mind. The thing people should do is abide by the ten commandments, or as was said: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". If people could do those two little things, think about what a wonderful world this would be. I also realize that this will not happen without some major change in peoples hearts, divine intervention anyone?

I didn't see the movie or read the book. What with the attitudes toward anything spiritual in Hollywood, or coming from anywhere within the secular left, how accurate could it have been?

if you a conspiracy theorist that movie was true, but for most people including the director it was intended to be fiction

just don't take the bible literally. OR try to "convince" someone "God" exists, that shit pisses me off
Not trying to piss you off, But can you open your mind to the possibility that he might exist or are you totally convinced there is no God, No higher power and we are left with the wisdom of man, an oxymoron if ever there were.

hom36rown, you do realize that in nearly every civilization there is a flood story, right?

It's not just the Christians that have one.

The Ancient Greeks had one, the Indians (India) have one, the Amerindians have one. Now, not being there, I can't actually verify the actual occurrence of a global flood, but it's kind of hard to believe that all those widely separated cultures would have flood myths if there wasn't some kind of event like that.

hom36rown, most everyone would agree that there wasnt 2 of each animal on a giant boat. What you have to look at is the meaning behind the words, which can be seen in many different ways, for example: as a story that might possibly empower a young person to act for the betterment of society even when they are surrounded by greed and desires.

and im not a jesus freak, just a kid who spent his entire school career in private catholic schools. And im agnostic, not catholic.

Do their stories include a huge arc with two of each animal?

I don't think so, but I know that the Greek flood story ends with some even less believable where the two people that survived pick up rocks and throw them behind them as they walk, and the rocks turn into people.

Some how, I think the Ark Story might just be a little more believable than that.

But, you know what they say, seeing is believing.

Maybe some one will find the ark, or maybe not... either way it gives a lot of people something to keep them busy.

If there is a God I will never know until my expiration. Neither will you or any other living being.

i dont know what arrogant fuck thought he "knew" what "God" wanted and what his "word" was. Its bullshit. We live in a free society and we can choose to believe what we please.

I mean, what makes you so sure a specific religion is right?

there is no human capable of understanding even remotely of what goes on after death. Whether we are simply just complex organism that live, die then decompose or whether we have a plan, an intelligent creator waiting at the end of the tunnel,, it doesnt matter,, and we will not know until the end.

So lets stop making asses out of ourselves making impossible speculations.

Live life now, you will have plenty of time to figure things out when you are gone.:blsmoke::peace:
