What you guys think? Day 19

Or to much water or not to much and maybe light is to close?
Mabe to much water. I transplanted on Monday. I gave water last Friday and then again on Monday when I transplanted. I did that by accident. I forgot I was transplanting on Monday. I always transplant because I used to be super bad with over watering when I planted them in the 3 gallon containers first. Next grow im going to try to plant in the 3 gallon containers first. Im doing wayyyyy better with knowing when to water. I lift the pot and if it's heavy you know your good. How do you know if the lights are to high or to low? Clearly if stretching it's to high, but how to tell if to low? With this grow I had one stretch the worst, the other two stretched a tad, and the other was fine. So there all kind of doing there own thing. It looks like there is slight clawing on the runt as well.

The leaves cupping down is overwatering and sometimes if you overfeed that happens too but overall nice plants.
Thank ya. Ya they don't look terrible. I just hate how the one looks really really good. Lol it's like I want all of you to look like that. There all different strains tho. So ya, guess I can't expect them to all act the same. Plus different phenos

They each react their own way to light and water. Some might need more while others need less. You may be giving too much light. The one plant looks a little unhappy - too much light? Too little water? Too much water? Top soil looks dry, which is good if not too dry. I think 50% at 14” may be too much at this stage. I’d raise the light a few inches. Water when pots feel light.

I think there still heavy. Thats what I was gonna ask in another thread here is how do you know about how high to have lights and when to crank them up. It will be week 3 tomorrow. I can take more pictures. They seem to have improved in my opinion. Just trying to figure out what to do with lights

Photone is a phone app that measures light intensity with some accuracy. You’re aiming for 400-600 ppfd for plants at this stage. I really think your light at 14” and 50% could be delivering considerably more than that. And maybe not. Keep experimenting!

ps: just tested my 300w light at 50% and 14”, and the levels seemed fine for early veg, so that suggestion is likely not the culprit.

When can I expect them to start needing more light? In flowering do you want lights higher or lower?

Increase intensity as they grow, to some extent. They need more in flower than they do I veg, especially early veg like these.
When do they start to flower? Mabe 4th week? These are autos if I didn't specify. Does flowering period like lights higher or lower? I haven't grown for like two years, so ya kind of coming back from a break. I grew enough for like a 2 years supply. So kind of forgot some things. I have book I keep notes tho.

You will likely start to see some preflower signs by week four. They make a quick stretch for a week or two, then really start to fill out. Same flow as photos but at a highspeed - I love that part.

In my somewhat limited experience (currently on my fourth tent grow of autos) they are pretty consistently ready in the 75-85 day window, depending on personal preference.

Photone app for your phone will give you a rough estimate of light measurements. You have to pay to get ppfd readings, but it’s cheap.

I’m running a grow journal of my current auto grow if you want to check it out. Here’s a pic, with the largest plants at day 37 or so, to give you a sense of pacing.

What do you mean I got to pay for ppfd readings? I can't just use the app?

They look ok, a bit over watered to my eyes. I found watering tricky with autos when you start them in their final containers, but once they get going they should take off. Try letting them dry out a little more than you are before your next watering. Water slowly and methodically, and at this point don't water close to base of the plant at all. Water further out to encourage those roots to spread. Consider setting up a SIP

I'd start some sort of LST at this point.

I increased lights to 16 inches away
In veg i prefer my lights further away than that to encourage stretching.
