What soil do you use?

and to answer your original question i use Fox Farm Ocean forest mixed with perilite, Espoma bulb tone and Espoma Garden lime.

Have you used the Espoma plant-tone? Do you find the bulb-tone to have better beneficials compared to it, if so? I use the same setup you have, except swap out the bulb-tone for the plant-tone. I have no need to change, as this works beautifully, but just wondering.

I mean think about it if your gonna spend all your time , effort , and not to mention risk of completing a succesful soil grow then 23 bucks for the base of the whole grow is not much and yes promix is a great but you'll spend way more on nutes due to it being a soiless mix that's money from the start to the finish and to use a full line of nutes are way more exspenive than that 23 bucks
i wasnt saying its not worth it as i use it as well i was just saying its not cheap compared to other potting soils on the market.

i just use the bulb tone because thats what i picked up, either that or the garden tone. I just try and use a decently balanced "tone" so its benificial throughout flower and veg. i also use the general organics lineup for both veg and flower and have never had a issue with burning my plants. i used to mix my FFoF with a pro mix because all i kept hearing was FFoF is too strong for seedlings but like i said i have never really experienced this issue first hand so went to straight up 100% FFoF with the perilite., lime and Espoma "tone" and have yet to come across a issue. not sying its the perfect recipe but it has done me good

ffof with 20% perlite and 10% ewc this is for veg and i put the seeds right into it.

for flower i use the same but up pot and add Rainbow Bloom Mix at 2 tbsp per gal.

i only water and never need nutes. if ffof is too expensive or can not get it, a quality organic potting soil of any kind will work. Black Gold, Kelloggs, etc.
