What Organic High Potassium do you Use?

when i read up it said that when the weed burns, the rizzla goes a dark brown colour and isnt clean due to mollass's it was stating. i haven't used it yet but i will be using just lil bits tho for the lil micro dudes in the soil that thrive on it. i guess every1 has there differences and its hard for a newbie to soak up all this info without getting confused but its all trial and error. i know with organic soil and nute theres no need to flush as its all the GOOD STUFF!. thanks for your info bro ill keep in mind :-o
 
Blackstrap unsulphured mollasses is a good source of pottasium/carbs/iron/magnesium/calcium. All things I'm pretty sure your plants need.

I only use mollasses and water when I grow. Nothing else what so ever occassionally I'll add a lil piss to the mix for a lil added nitrogen. I've never had a N deficency ever so I don't think the piss was ever nessicary I was just drunk.

Pee pee is good stuff for nitrogen. Definitely must be diluted. Young plants should get 1 part pee pee to 10 parts water & mature plants would get 1 part pee pee to 5 parts water. I don't tell others to do it but it's something i do atleast twice a week during veg. Water it in with a watering can. Pee pee can also be used as a weed killer so you want to avoid pissing on your plants or getting pee pee on your plants. Never store piss unless you like foul orders. Use it immediately after diluted. :leaf:

i got something for ya that i come across the other day when i was out. i found sulphate of potash 1kg box of the stuff that has more p k.also i found superphosphate 1.2kg now i think that would solve your problem if you can get hold of the stuff.
 
take banana peels and bake them til they are black and crisp them break them down ( i put them in a blender) and add it to ur soil
 
Sorry about the earlier post with no much info.

I use sulphate of potash which is EC 0-0-48 which is very high pottassium fert.

I also use super phosphate that says om it normal superphosphate 17.

Both can be mixed in with ur soil oand is soluble in water so u can add to ur water when water for an extra boost of P and K.

I picked up both from a gardening store and most DIY shops should sell them.

Greensand is very slowly available to plants. Look into it. Takes years for a plant to be able to use it. And thats in garden soil, dont know about potting soil. Thanks Evil, dont think Ive seen the potash around.

Sounds cool, I'm no specialist but won't the baking affect nute levels in the skin, would it be ok to cut up the skin into tiny pieces and add these to the soil?

Have a look when ur near ur local diy store just pop in and see what they got in there gardening section. Most sell bonemeal fish meal blood meal and potash. It's really cheap and the probably one the highest content pottassium fert there is.

I transplant my plants when going into flowering and i add the potash and the super phosphate to my soil. For an extra boost of P and K. i also then mix a bit in my water when flowering if and when needed.

Wow! It's hard to find a reliable answer on the actual time it takes to become available. This is the first I have heard it takes years. What I found from your prompted research is that it depends on your microbacterial health as to how fast it breaks down and that some brands, such as epsoma, claim that 1% is available immediately available. The Epsoma brand is 0-0-6, so probably not pure Jersey Greensand. My current batch of soil has been cooking for about 4 months so hopefully it is working some, but I'm not getting deficiencies and have gone without with success.

that all being said, in rereading your original post looking for "fast acting" source of K, I apologize that my repley was completely irrelevant! Lots of good tips here though!

green sand is an interesting potassium source, i had read about its slow release nature
one grower just recycled the sand from grow to grow, sand would fall out in a tub of water, and he'd screen it out
so if it's slow release, not a problem, just add enough to get the potassium levels you want, then recycle
on my list of soil amendments to try

2%-5% is very high?

Look up Deuce-Deuce by Humboldt Nutrients,
It's an OMRI certified organic 0-0-22.. now Thats
high in potassium.

DERIVED FROM: Ascophyllum Nodosum Seaweed and Sulfate Of Potash.

ALSO CONTAINS NON-PLANT FOOD INGREDIENTS:
1% Yucca Extract
 
i get a great big bag of kelp meal and mix a few cups into the soil along with worm castings .i think a large bag of it was around 50 bucks.
 
I think a good blackstrap molasses has an even higher then 5% K. I did the math on mine and got more like 9% if I remember right. I think I'll try and find a liquid kelp. Im starting to see a little leaf drop on my batch in flower. Ive used one dose of my bloom (0-10-10). Gonna throw it out. Its old and almost gone. Just never had a fertilizer go bad before. But Im seeing real bad results from using it outside on my veggies too. And I have the high P guano so might as well get a high K nute. Then I have a seperate nute for all 3 macro nutes. (fish emulsion, bat guano, and kelp)

So I dont really think it was my hard water, or my new indo bat guano killing my damn plants. Now I think it was the old ass gallon jug of potash and phosphoric acid.
