Haha I just decided to wing it also. This is my first grow and surprisingly it’s going good. Here’s a pic of my 11/12 day old baby’s. CE0AA0C5-1474-4211-B205-AABD2FF11376.jpeg

It is a damn weed, how hard could it be?

I realized it was New Years Eve and I probably could not get to a store in a few days so I repotted and mixed in about 20% worm casings. Watered it and left it on its own rather than fussing over it every day (talk to it, turn it, show it some love). And today... ...the bottom leaves are curling up and looking crispy.

I thought the same thing and ended up way over my head, but This forum has done me wonders.
don't recall anyone asking yet , Have you checked your water ph and such? My tap watera ph was way high and it was locking out nutrients .
And have you got the leaves wet while the light was on or before it was due to come on? That can cause spotting and such, I Made that mistake early on lol.
As far as the curling goes I can't really comment on that part, still learning the deficiency signs myself ;)

Plant looks healthy. I finally wired up my led lighting for the plant. I will put some reflective material around it but left it off for the sake of the picture. Next is to make a grow chamber and put together a dedicated power supply for the leds. I am just using a benchtop regulated power supply at the moment.

She is doing better.

Please share what actions you took for the turn around. We all learn from each other, which has been pointed out earlier in this thread. Good work though. And LED strips, damn good choice for a first timer.

When things are looking good...

Might have the light too close to the plant and it needed more moisture as compared to using the florescent tubes. Turned down the current to the diodes by half and watered. It probably is big enough to survive my learning curve. The first time around I just replanted and gave about 20% worm castings and watered fully once a week. I'll see how it goes and adjust the light level and water as needed.

Let's try this a little slower. My place is really dry and the plant might have been a little more thirsty with the brighter light. Trimmed off the leaves since they were almost gone.

Soil is easy, but slower and more prone to pests. For the first time, I would strongly recommend hempy buckets with 75% perlite and 25% vermiculite. You get the ease of soil and hand watering infrequently, along with the fast growth of hydro and the ability to dial in your nutes.

Topped a week or two ago. I should have had a light meter and checked to see how much an increase in light I gave the plant. Live and learn. I still need to make a grow chamber for my plant(s) so I could control the humidity. Still need to make some changes to the house before I get that going.

That sounds interesting, I will have to look up perlite and vermiculite.

Darn, two steps forward, one back. I am guessing burnt by the light intensity. Turned down the current. Will be gentle from now on.

Coming along again.

And some seeds from Just A Handful Seeds, Starry Night Feminized and Blurgaberry CBD Feminized. Sprouted in a couple of days and seems like they are happy to grow.

Also I used some scrap wood and made a little grow room in a spare room. Need to put vapor barrier up and vent it. Has a closet off to the right.

I repotted the plant, surprised at how root bound it was. Still seems to be issues, hope it will like the bigger pot.

My first attempt at cloning, took the lowest branch as I saw some yellowing on one leaf and though it might shrivel up and die otherwise. I dipped the end in cloning powder, the peat plug looks fairly damp, not sure if that is ok. I have it in a cup with a film plastic wrap over top so the humidity should remain high.

Put it in sunlight, under my lights?

Ok, you need to figure this out. Plant takes off and goes good for a week or two and then starts looking shitty from the bottom up, right? Starts with brown spots or patches on otherwise healthy leaves and then quickly fades and begins to crisp..is that right? I’d like to see that stalk. Lots of purpling I’m noticing on the clone. Your local garden mix is probably just peat and perlite with lime. What fertilizer are you using and how often? Sometimes phosphorous deficiency shows itself in slightly different ways. I’m leaning towards atleast a phosphorous deficiency being the main culprit.

The plant is hungry. It’s either not getting enough food or your ph is off. That’s a deficient plant for sure. That soil mix probably has no nutrients in it. The worm casting aren’t cutting it and you need to ditch the idea of relying on them. Get yourself a balanced liquid fertilizer and hit em with a good dose. To make things easier on your next pot up...you’ll thank me. Add a tablespoon of powdered DOLOMITE lime into the soil and mix it in well. Get some Epsoma biotone dry fertilizer or happy frog all purpose dry fertilizer or something similar and mix in into the soil as well at quarter strength. You’ll see a big improvement in plant health and plant won’t Be so quick to give you issues. Better yet, if you can spare the cash, buy some Promix to transplant into next. Still add the lime and dry fertilizer. For now give them some food and check your ph next water if you can. Normally I’d recommend to do it the other way around to rule out ph issue and overload of fertilizer but you haven’t been feeding them properly so I say hit em with the bottle nutes ASAP.

Yes I agree, as much as I was giving the worm castings a chance I came to that conclusion. I did the quick re-pot as a immediate response and (don't shoot me) gave some Schultz 10-15-10 Liquid Plant Food with the watering. I did pick up some Promix premium potting soil, that is the only Promix they have around here that I can find. If it is, maybe pull the plant out now rather than wait? I have a pH tester coming in the mail, tried measuring with test strips, does not work so well. My water is a little below 7.0 pH. I will have to look up the others you suggested, our garden centers are not stocked with much since our ground will still be frozen for another month or so. Even then I have not seen many of the suggestions people have given for nutrients. Hard to get the right exposure but I think this is close, maybe half way between both pictures.

And thank you for your help.
