What light for my clones?

I am picking up my clones in about a week and was just planning to put them under my MH light and turn it down from 600 to 400w. (switching to hps for flower)
Is this ok? I have noticed in a lot of the posts that some people use cfl lights for their clones. Thank you

I raise mine under CFL for about a week but then I actually cut my own clones from my own plants. Then I place them in soil and at the edge of my HPS light throw and gradually move them closer in.

Mine stay under the same 400 mh their mother is under. Most people use flouros.
