What happened to the REAL Skunk?

When I was a kid we used to get skunk bud that smelled exactly like a run over by a car skunk. Can anyone please tell me of a strain like that? I bought Kiwiskunk from KiwiSeeds and 1 week from harvest it smells very good but also very sweet...I want real skunk! I want the kind of skunk where I need to buy another carbon filter cause it smells so damn bad like a skunk got run over. Please suggest!

Sensi Seeds skunk?

ur on the west coast right? i figured they had it out there, as i've heard of the old-school stanky skunk referred to as "West Coast Skunk". i too miss that roadkill skunk. DNA has RKS, which in the description says its got the stank, but i read somewhere it didnt live up to the name. look for road kill skunk, or massachusetts Super skunk which was used in Sour Diesel, which def has some of that old school funk to it. sensi skunk wouldn't be the way to go unless it was from the 80's, which i imagine would be quite difficult to locate. good luck homie

I grow Death Star form PO in cali, it suppose to be from somewhere in Ohio originally. This strain is my Holy Grail, it grows in veg like a monster, clones in under a week, flourishes when others are dieing..

The buds smell so skunky, it makes my super skunk smell sweet. Best of all it takes 55 days to 50% amber, average yeild.

Growth structure is kinda like sativa DOM in veg, then she doesnt stretch hardly during flower to stay low. Has Giant leaves...

I have had two grows of her.

i miss that old school body odor smelling skunky skunk.. all the skunk nowadays is milder/sweeter... lots of fruity skunks, sweet skunks, lemony skunks...

i'm from cali and i'm wondering where all the good skunk went as well. i remember i used to buy grams that were double baggied about 10 years ago and i had to keep them stashed outside or the entire house would reek...just off of 1g haha. bud is much drier today and most people are switching from organic to hydro. the fresher and stickier bud is, the more smell it seems to put off.

umm guy im pretty sure sensi skunk variety is the most legit it comes man. They won cannabis cup in the 80's for the same seeds they are selling now. Get some sensi skunk1 or some sensi super skunk

i remember that same skunk. i grew up in 80s ninetys in bay area and damn. one time we camped and my girl thought i had weed i said a skunk was neer and she took it. LoL

last time i smelled that smell was like 6 years ago or more..... never since then .... its like that strain died out

yea i will agree no one has had any good examples of skunk lately its out there in seed form or in some hippys back yard im on the hunt for it right now too... I think im going to go after the ones in seed form that i think have possibilities (not many of these) i know im takin the easy way out lol i really need to go on a cutting hunt across cali.... damn maybe next summer

i personally dont know what happened to the real real skunk. that is such an old strain. ive tried jamaican skunk. pretty phenomenal

I'm also missing the stuff that smelled like you just ran over Pepi LaPew. I have a Sensi Skunk #1 that will be done in about 2 1/2 weeks and Flying Dutchmen Original Skunk #1 about 2 weeks into flower. I can't wait to see how it smells and smokes. It's getting plenty of Botanicare Raw Sweetner.

Nah it's just got the name skunk. It's the same as other skunks on the market with mostly sativa genetics. I have not grown it but I doubt it's the RKS, I would look into strong smelling indicas or something.

Since I see there is some debate on sensi skunk I will post my results on this thread in a couple of weeks. Back in the 90's there was some stuff we called "Stinky Twinky". Don't know the strain, but a girlfriend got in my rig where I had it triple bagged in a hidden compartment and she asked if I had hit a skunk. I laughed my ass off and said "yeah a big one". Grower paid for his kids college and his house then quit like a smart man back in 2000. Crazy thing is he didn't even smoke anymore. I've been looking for something comparable ever since. I'll let you all know my honest opinion and I am picky.

since no one has mentioned it ive read a lot of great things about seedsman's "original skunk #1"...supposedly seedsman got it from one or some of the people who originally created "skunk #1"...so i'd assume its going to be most accurate...i could be wrong...just passing along something i read. im considering getting a few from them to see how they work out...cheap too...a 10 regular pack is about $30 some odd dollars and a FEM 10 pack is like $60-something.

yeah i dont know man i've had some skunk well not recently but the last good skunk i had was claimed sensi seeds variety and it was supposed to be skunk 1 and let me tell you that shit smell like i had a skunks ass in my face. Too bad its been like 4 years since i've seen any of it around. That is why i mentioned the sensi variety. Maybe someone got the pheno out of it and it went away when they went away lol. Shit doesnt matter someone just find the legit shit and let us know where the fuck it is I NEED GOOD SKUNK DAMNIT

this makes me want to do a seedsman and sensi skunk #1 grow off...see which is more potent...yields higher...easiest to grow, etc.

Thanks man, I just might try that out. I'll post if I do. Right now I have Kiwiskunk which has skunky scents but also smells sweet. Wanna lose the sweet side.

LOL. That's what I'm saying man! Sounds like Seedsman might be the way to go, or at least a direction to start. When I ordered Kiwiskunk from Kiwiseeds, I thought it was Kiwiseeds version of skunk, not sweet kiwi skunk. Still good shit but not the skunk with the funk!
