im probably ganna get and also a tent !! ive been doint just a big open room. id like to keep the shit concealed ! plus the mylar reflection will probably help tremendosly with getting more light all over the plants!!

Agreed, people attacked my comment.. which I should have seen coming, so I felt I had to explain myself. Should have never mentioned it lol. I apologize. grabbed a cheap setup from LEDwholesalers off amazon.. cheapest you will find probably. I run 2 ballasts from them, a 600 and a 400.. its a no name but no complaints so far.

its alright man it happens. i apologize also for being a tad rude also. much appreciated n also thanks for the imput on the leds!
do you need to run a ballast through them? (did you mean you run it side by side?) or is it just plug and go

sorry haha.. the seller "LEDwholesalers" probably made u think I was talking about LEDs... that was misleading. These are just standard HID electronic ballasts although they do obv. sell LED lights, never checked them out though. I have nothing to say about LEDs.. I've only dicked around with a 45 watt panel red and blue spectrum. They eventually made a 28 watt model that has the same output and got rid of the 45. I just used it for veg.. thats what is in my signature. It was good for veg, I was impressed what it put out for being so small however I never bothered to flower with it. I originally got it for a little autoflower stealth grow under my computer desk but plans changed etc... it was made by sunshine systems, you can find it on "greners.com" I don't know what prices are like on this website compared to others in the states but I always reference this site even though I am in canada for prices and available products.
 
ah okay i gotchya. ha this will be my first run with them.. im trying to debate wether to get the pannel and run two 600w/1 600
or run one or two of the 600s with a bunch of the smaller leds ? in a 60x60x80" tent with 14 girls

im really excited to see what will become of my girls under the lights (also my first run in a tent)


i remember reading about leds when they first started hitting the market. every one said no they suck. fuck leds and shit

but now i see alotttt of people who swear by them

itll be a fun test. if i dont like it imma just sell it hahah
 
I just checked out that LED light.. personally, I would put your $200.00 towards a full HID light package, you will get so much more out of your plants. I would do some serious research before investing in LEDs.
 
yeah maybe ill just do that.. get the leds for vegging. ill see how i feel when the time comes
but i will deffinitly be doing more research.
ive been reading on the basics of them for the past hour or so
we will see what turns out of it... maybe ill start my first journal ... maybe

Now I don't have any experience with this yet but just found this out from a friend. They have splitters you can buy so you can run two lights off one ballast. I don't know if this is more efficient or how it all works or what, I'm sure someone can inform us but maybe this would be more ideal buying one 1000watt ballast instead of double the money on two 600watt ballasts.
 
I've heard about the 1000w splitter thing hydrofarm makes. Supposed to run 2 600's. I don't see how ud get 1200w out of 1000w tho. I've seen the redline ballasts made by sunlight supply that's actually 2 1000w ballasts in one, seem pretty cool but I'm a 600 guy myself. And @ $160 for a whole 600w setup its hard to stray away.

ive read the splittlers you loose alot of every thing ill just stick with two ballests
and yeah imma have both lights going on the cool tube.. ganna get one more inline fan.. one blowing air through one pulling it out

im thinking about.. the babys are already started . bout 2.5 weeks from sprout. my business partner has been taking care of them while im out of town working. last pic i saw of them i wasnt too happy with there treatment(im the care taker, but when i gotta work i gotta work...wish i could take the plants with me lol) so i cant be too mad though... but maybe ill do a thread/journal. itll be first one .. kinda be cool to have somehting to go back on... and show how easy it is to get your bitches to bounce back

I left for work for a few weeks one time, left my old lady as caretaker for some mystery seeds I had. Nice, young and lst'd with 8 tops when I left, told her just to water and raise the light every few days. Came home to some dead ass plants lookin like a octopus died with his legs hangin out the pot lol and 2 of the 4 bulbs burnt out in the t5. Ill never make that mistake again!

right on man imma start this thread now.i was ganna have my ol'lady take care of them.(i know she probably woulda been the better choice...but hindsights 20/20 right?lol) my partner sent me some pics.. i need some help diagnosing them.. i havent had probablems like this on anything this small
im just not sure what it could be
