I saw that stuff at home depot and was thinking about getting it, but... if you read what its made of... the reflective metalic part on the outside is aluminum... so, Idk... also it traps heat... just pointing those factors out for ya. people say emergency blankets work well...

That looks just like some stuff that I use called "Reflectix". It claims to reflect about 97 or 98% of all radient energy (I don't remember exactly). I got no complaints!

sounds like it would insulate too much, meaning your grow room would be too hot? Can you just get some white paint and paint the walls? I know that's not always an option, but its 100% better than that stuff.

Heat isn't a problem - I use active ventilation. This stuff reflects better than Flat white paint anyway. I don't use it to line the walls. I roll it into individual tubes that just slip over the pot's diameter and hang a single 23 watt CFL with a 5 1/2" reflector down in there about an inch off the plant. It works great for me!

Just use flat white paint. There is a roofing paint thats supposedly even better at reflection

(people refer to it a elastomer, or something close to that. I just remember the root word meaning it stretches, nothing to do with its reflective properties)

I used an exterior grade. Figured hold up better to the moisture.

(plus pics are easier to see against paint then mylar)
