Yeah big rawboned, cowboy, Master Sgt type. Eastwood/Fonda/Mitchum come to mind.
I used to wait with baited breath for the next Lee Child novel. Then I spent 4 years writing action hero type stories, and haven't read one since. My only reading is in waiting rooms these days. It can take a couple of years to finish a book. Although when I hurt my shoulder from too much chainsawing and had to spend hours in the tub, I did start to re-read Stormy Weather.

Lawless a 2012 1h 55min flick on Roku.

The true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the
American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant.

It's a different take on Moonshining.

This story line is from local stomping grounds just a few miles across the hollow. The mountains are
not lit up with still fires like they once were but those RedNeck Hillbillies are definitely still running that white lightning.

I got to be pretty good friends with an old timer from the Kentucky hills. His town was divided into two moonshine camps in the mid '60's. Folks were getting killed left and right. He joined the Navy and went to Nam as a SeaBee because it was safer than staying home. Tough as nails. He was awarded the Silver Star for saving his team by running through an ambush with them in the bucket of a front end loader.

My family made whiskey here in NW Florida. Granddad went to the pen for a year and a day in '55. Daddy gave it up then, but the 10 years of whiskey money after he came home from the war got them a good start on life.

I'm watching 24 from the beginning. I didn't realize until recently that I missed the first few seasons, as I had just started marriage #2 and everything was a blur around that time. Bitch. Anyway, such a great show - the pacing, writing, direction are all top notch. The acting is the weak point, and even that is not bad. Especially for an action show. Remember, America's first black President was David Palmer, not Obama ;) The music is a big highlight for me, really cool themes and motifs. The composer is Sean Callery, who also writes music for Elementary, Homeland, and The Kennedys. Really talented guy, here he is conducting some of his themes with a smaller, studio orchestra...

i have a question for netflix users...
is there a way to change up what i see on my home screen? i've tried to google it, and found a few pages with suggestions like clearing out your viewing history, so i went through my history and deleted like 95% of the stuff on there, but i still keep only seeing like the same 50 shows or so on my home page.. i am sure if i went through and just used the search feature and went through the alphabet that way, i'd find a lot of stuff i've never seen nor heard of before, but it just seems like there's got to be a better way to find out what all is on netflix than this method? any suggestions, tips, tricks, so on and so? tia..

I've noticed the home page selections are a bit different when viewed via computer vs the smart TV; alot of the same things but also some different stuff. Not that satisfying of an answer though. This is a neat trick I found: https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/the-netflix-id-bible-every-category-on-netflix/
