if I can get that I will..i can get happy frog and ocean forest...since I need 6 cu ft..could I do like 5 cu ft of happy frog and one bag of ocean forest....I know ffof is too strong for making super soil..butt what if I did the combination I just said...and thanks chuck
think I still prefer just the HF as the base. If you have the charge packs and do the cook right, you should have some pretty good soil
Ocean forest is known for low ph issues, i wouldn't want to deal with that in a supersoil.

thanks so much man...no one replys to any of my shit...I know to let it cook for 30 days or more...butt ill be making 6 cu ft...how long would u bake for....have u ever did the super soil thing

I did it a few years ago, I wet it, cooked for 2 weeks, stirred it up, I think I re moistened or checked for moistness, then resealed for another 2 weeks

I love me some b vitamins. Plants do produce b vitamins on their own, but not to their full potential, especially in hydro. Aiding with some b vitamins will let the plants focus on other tasks(producing foliage and roots in veg and flower sites in flower), reduce stress and up taking of other nutrients.

Also, after looking at your page, you might wanna get more experience before chimming in on things you haven't been educated on yet. cyco is great, if I feel
like spending well over $1000 per run. I have 960 gallons of rezs to change once a week.

I do not like paying for water. Plain and simple. My education will allow me to mix my own nutrients, even possibly manufacture it for resale too.

You might not believe in college and that's fine. I've studied at trade schooled for electrician, plumber and HVAC tech. I have a 4 year degree is business mathematics. Currently in grad school for that degree and working on a associates in biochem. All my education is to better my growing and education. It's one of the most addicting things in my life.
If someone says they want to build a computer they don't go buy all the pieces and a soldering kit they literally build it piece by pre manufactured piece ie. motherboard, cpu, power source etc.

What blows my mind is.... "My education will allow me to mix my own nutrients, even possibly manufacture it for resale too." Who the hell are you, the next Bill Gates of Nutes?? You the guy that is going to solve everyones problems because Advanced nutrients, Cyco, GenHydro etc have proven their nutes don't work even though the entire internet proves they do? If you are I apologize and I will be the first to buy and try your product for review but in all honesty I highly doubt you will have your own line.

But lets look at the question.
"What are the best nutrients out there?whats better advanced nutrients or hydro fuel?"

This person asked about premixed nutes. So they want to buy stuff that is premixed. That might be because maybe they have a job and don't go to school on the govt dime. Or maybe they have a family and don't have time to invest into making their own juice.

Your response was pretty much neither that you have a degree and you are all knowing and you have to make your own nutes to get good nutes. So I cracked a joke and the butthurt flowed throughout the community.

But lets look at the question. He asked about 2 specific lines of nutes right? So he was looking for something premixed. You bad mouthed pre made nutes as if they wouldn't work and your college degree says so. The fact is any line of nutes works or they wouldn't sell AND IT BOILS DOWN TO personal experience with each one. I doubt anyone on this forum has used every type of nutrient, if they have its a very few set of people.

I'm thinking it was a lady, trying to be all aggressive to show the "guys" what's up. Either way the Dr. has the mentality of a teenage child. Cheers and I feel you on taking in knowledge when it presents itself.

As far as this comment goes all I have to say is "na na boo boo I hope you step in poo poo"

I'm done with you after this comment.
1. You are assuming I think I an better than you because my college education, those words never came out of my mouth.
2. I use premixed nutrients right now, never said I didn't. I'm learning biochem to be able to make my own in the future, and spot ones I should stay away from in the mean time.
3. Selling the nutrients was simply a reference on a way I can get back my "50k and 8 years" it is not part of my long term plan.
4. I pay for all my education out of pocket. Once again, you were assuming.
5. Family- yea I pay for my parents mortgate, utilities, food, gas, everything. Family is the reason i strive for such high education. No kids, you got me there ;)
6. I pick advanced nutrients between the two, I believe I posted that on the first page.
7. Sit back, relax, take a dab or smoke a joint. Chill out.

Yea this is too petty, sorry we got into an argument. Looked at your posts and I am sure you definitely know what you are talking about. I honestly started this all out as just trying to be funny and then it got heated. Guess its all in how you interpret what you read. I'm just a little ol tent grower, don't mind me.

Ok, so there are a lot more articles on the falsity of b vitamins. Here is one that will prob be hated on because it wasn't written by a doctor.

Bu let's keep in mind, it's much easier to prove something does not work than it does. Many

I'm not looking to be right, I'm looking to find the right answer.

As for the use of b vitamins, I will continue the use of them in my gardens. I have done the side by sides and there is a difference. Whether that comes from b vitamins or a ingredient or by product not listed on the bottle.

Think I will stick with this bona fide research disproving B vitamins done by the University of California:

Just figured I'd put in my 2 cents...
Dynagrow pro foliage is a complete 1 part and it's pretty cheap. I called and asked for a sample and they sent me the foliage pro, protekt silica and a bottle of some rooting hormone for free. It's lasted almost a year...Doesn't really get any simpler.
Same goes for Maxibloom and a personal favorite of mine is Jacks Classic and bloom booster.

In the grand scheme of things, the plant produces what the plant needs, salesmen produce what the GROWER needs.
This grower needs good results, so I'll stick to what I know works for me and my plants.
If you or your plants don't need it, more power to you!

Happy growing

I use FP myself, great stuff

You don't need a college degree to design your own hydro nutrients using DIY salts anyway. You technically learn everything you need to know in high school chemistry, which I think most people take in 11th grade now.

You do, however, need to take specialized college courses (or just the material) to learn about vitamins and organic chemistry

Honestly, designing DIY nutes with raw salts is really a matter of guess and check with different amounts of each salt until results are good.

So I hear one strong voice saying http://www.dragonflyearthmedicine.com/index.html for organic soil mixes. (Will that work in coir?)

And several highly valued members really like their results from http://www.dyna-gro.com/ and more specifically, their Foliage Pro 9-3-6 mix. (Again, is that in hydro/soil/coir?)

And Advanced Nutrients is simply near average, but acceptable?

Added questions: if you're gonna make your own blends, can that also be organic or is chemical the same or better? (Here in the PacNW, it's clear the public buying from the dispensaries much prefer organic. But how does organic hold up in if you want to grow without soil?)

Finally, if you make your own cocktails, are there certain organic brands offering the individual components, that you trust?

Neither organic nor inorganic is better, but mixing organics is more like voodoo while mixing salts is hard chemistry.

Even organic growers will use inorganic material whether they know it or not. A lot of elements from the soil are fed from ... rocks... dirt is mostly inorganic.

Also, do not confuse synthetic with inorganic. It's possible to have synthetic organics (plastics, synthetic urea, etc), and to have natural inorganic (rock phosphate, iron sulfate, gypsum, nitric acid from acid rain which you get from natural forest fires, etc).

Synthetic often means better. Miracle grow, Peters 20-20-20, Jack's classic, shultz are all examples of synthetic urea products, which is technically organic.
