I will not be able to water my plants for another 5 or 6 days because the it will take that long to dry out because I just watered them, but not with epsom salt. Can I foliar feed with epsom salt? How much would I add to a gallon of water for foliar feeding?

You can foilar feed with epson salt. Depending on how often you do it dosage will be different. Every other week is 1tsp/gallon or 1Tbsp/gallon when your flowering and again at the begining of budding. Never understood why peeps used epson salt as a substitute for magnesium and sulfure nutes? Does it really work that well for you guys?

I just put one tsp of epsom salt in one gallon of water and Phed it to 6.5 and then foliar feed them. We will see what happens.....

so i got a set of miracle grow bloom buster and its (15-30-15). just wondering, what exactly do those numbers refer to?
now you guys are recommending 1/8th to 1/16th the recommended amount? ive started off with 1/2 the recommended amount and havnt seen a problem yet, but its been two days and im also planning on only watering with the nuts every other day.....

what exactly do the epsom salts do for the plant?

The 15-30-15 is the NPK values for that product. For budding you generally want high P, veg nutes are usually high N. You can read up on NPK in the grow faq, plenty of detailed info there. Epsom salts, if I remember correctly, just help the plant by giving it minerals found in the salt and also it allows the plant to absorb nutrients in the soil that would otherwise be locked out due to pH problems.

This is my first growing using Mg potting soil mix. I think i fuked myself by not using enough soil bc i see the roots at the bottom of the pot and they're only 3wks into vegging. They're about 7 in tall and have 7 leaf branches, is that enough to start flowering? If anyone would comment please do so

Is that two plants in one pot? If so, that's not a good idea, and you've gotten yourself into a tough situation. There's virtually no way you can separate the roots at this point so maybe try and transplant into the biggest pot you can find. As for the amount of soil in your pot, you could have filled it more but most of that side space at the top is unused soil anyways.

I dont think giving nutes every other day is a great idea, that'll end up killing your plants... and the reason behind giving the 1/8th dose is to control all the levels in your soil safely. MG is already at .15/.05/.10 w/o any nutes and I dont think (could be wrong) there adding the time rease nutes to those figures, which if there not would raise the levels in soil (which is one of the biggest reasons why people say not to use MG). Oh man I just baked some brownies....... so f'ing good lol

Oh and wait until there between 12 - 18" before you even think about flowering them

yeah its two to one pot; beginners mistake? so get a bigger pot. weedcraft, do my plants look alright right now and how long should i let them veg?

i just dont like miracle gro because... i like making my own soil and they add their magic fertilizer to everything .. the fucking perlite i bought has it .. im gonna rinse that shit off 20 times over .. but their organic does seem too bad

Hey space cowboy, i had the same issue, my soil compacted and the pale of the bottom of the stem and the top of some roots started to show. i simply put another small layer of MG ontop of what was there already, covering the exposed roots and it turned out fine.

as for when you should start flowering, it depends on alot of factors. the two biggest ones i can see are the amount of grow space left, time constraints for when your grow needs to be finished (if there are any). other than that, im not well experienced but from what ive read here, you could start flowering whenever you see fit.... at what stage you flower just changes your final yield

Also, Big balls: at watch age do you start giving them the espom salt? Did u give them the same amount all the way though? Also, did you give it to the Mircale grow soil and the FF soil too? Thanks Alot
I wouldn't use the ES for foliar feeding (but then, I'm against foliar feeding)
I start the ES when it goes into flowering. I give it to this strain no matter what soil its in.

(BTW, the MG soil produced the most, FF and Pro Mix were identical, and behind the MG)

I am 4 weeks into veg, not flowering. I have 3 in MG soil and one in FF OF soil. They all started turning yellow on top at the same time when I put them in my tent. Could it be my tent?? I have a Habitat 33 tent in my closet. I have been trying to grow for 8 monthes and i have been getting stuck at the same spot like 5 different times when i put them in my tent.

this thread is for all the people who uses MG and don't get their panties all up in a bunch.... instead of hearing,

waaaah waahhhh.... my plant burn.... i hate you MG....wahhhhh wahhhh

ummmmm, how about not overwatering (prevents burning... and why the hell are you overwatering anyway... stop babysitting your plant)
oh, how about not adding more nutes to something that ALREADY has nutes? (damn....how much do YOU eat? greedy bastards)
how about this one...buying soil just to pick out all the white stuff out of it, DOESN'T make sense.... (do you date girls that you have to makeover? i didn't think so)
PH problems? don't blame MG (PH stands for playa hater...thats right...MG has a playa hater problem...haha....stop hating all you big face bastards)

bottom line... MG doens't suck... you do...haha...

sorry...had to say this... getting tired of people on here "swearing on their lives" not to use the stuff....

people CAN and ARE ABLE TO grow with the damn thing...so please... stop given out bs... people come here for help and guidance... i understand everyone has things they like and are good suggestions/alternatives... but when i see a something like...

Newbie: i have miracle grow, 2 cfl's up my butt blah blah blah
response: don't use MG... i "HEARD" and "READ" not to use it... (stfu with the he say, she say crap... i know i'm rude..sorry)

or the other typical response: don't use it... MG burns and blah blah blah

i truly believe, if you can grow in MG... you were doing the right thing, which is basic gardening and following directions...which means you are able to adjust if you choose a different soil later on... you also know how to treat the plant and what to look for...

this excludes experience growers (unless you have beef with MG... well then...welcome, come on in, i would like to introduce you to my foot) haha.. i love this site

mg sucks unless your a little old lady with some petunias

its all nutrients- elements that are all the same. MG works great if used correctly just like any other fertilizer.

wow you have a 150 and 400 you soo cool!! but im cooler cause i got a 1000 and a 400.. what do your lights have to do with this anyway?
