I don't know if the conversation is true or not, (The Video), But I have been getting this sinking feeling that we the people have been had again. This is the man that gave such inspirational speeches, made promises of reconciliation, single payer health care, looking out for the poor, etc. What happened? I really don't know. It's beginning to look more and more like he sold out for that ride in AF1, the big power trip. I had no Idea at the time why any man would want that horrible job, depression looming, two wars, healthcare on the ropes, great division between the parties. I guess he will just pander to the corporations and nothing will really change, the war contractors will still get payed, the children of the poor will still die in foriegn lands for the corporations bottom lines, the healthcare giants will make some minor concessions they can get congress to overturn in the next couple a years. Yup, we've been had again. Just for your info. It wouldn't have been any different under John McCain, well maybe a little. We'd probably be full at war with Iran now also.

while your sitting in your classroom yapping away I am in the real world working in 8 differnet countries and providing countless revenues for the american government through taxes all through my own blood sweat and tears. the rest of the information about this I cannot state due to confidenciality as this is a dangerous place to discuss personal accomplishments

for your info it was your hated george w bush who created the perscription drug program. it is only for the needy so if your granda qualified she could have gotten her perscrition drugs for next to nothing. if she was doing well then she had here own health insuarnce to cover most of the costs. as I do

it was bush who made it easyer on her to get her drugs.

Obama, is telling you that he is making drugs cheaper but secretly is he is making deals to make them more expensive.

but you would never want to publish that now would you:lol:

so what does that make you?

Implicent in the Obama deception.

now tell me am I lieing?

Bill would give president emergency control of Internet

by Declan McCullagh

civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet.

They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

The new version would allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and do what's necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for "cybersecurity professionals," and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license.

"I think the redraft, while improved, remains troubling due to its vagueness," said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which counts representatives of Verizon, Verisign, Nortel, and Carnegie Mellon University on its board. "It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is necessary over the private sector. Unless this is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill."
Representatives of other large Internet and telecommunications companies expressed concerns about the bill in a teleconference with Rockefeller's aides this week, but were not immediately available for interviews on Thursday.

A spokesman for Rockefeller also declined to comment on the record Thursday, saying that many people were unavailable because of the summer recess. A Senate source familiar with the bill compared the president's power to take control of portions of the Internet to what President Bush did when grounding all aircraft on Sept. 11, 2001. The source said that one primary concern was the electrical grid, and what would happen if it were attacked from a broadband connection.

When Rockefeller, the chairman of the Senate Commerce committee, and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) introduced the original bill in April, they claimed it was vital to protect national cybersecurity. "We must protect our critical infrastructure at all costs--from our water to our electricity, to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records," Rockefeller said.
The Rockefeller proposal plays out against a broader concern in

Washington, D.C., about the government's role in cybersecurity. In May, President Obama acknowledged that the government is "not as prepared" as it should be to respond to disruptions and announced that a new cybersecurity coordinator position would be created inside the White House staff. Three months later, that post remains empty, one top cybersecurity aide has quit, and some wags have begun to wonder why a government that receives failing marks on cybersecurity should be trusted to instruct the private sector what to do.

Rockefeller's revised legislation seeks to reshuffle the way the federal government addresses the topic. It requires a "cybersecurity workforce plan" from every federal agency, a "dashboard" pilot project, measurements of hiring effectiveness, and the implementation of a "comprehensive national cybersecurity strategy" in six months--even though its mandatory legal review will take a year to complete.

The privacy implications of sweeping changes implemented before the legal review is finished worry Lee Tien, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation in San Francisco. "As soon as you're saying that the federal government is going to be exercising this kind of power over private networks, it's going to be a really big issue," he says.
Probably the most controversial language begins in Section 201, which

permits the president to "direct the national response to the cyber threat" if necessary for "the national defense and security." The White House is supposed to engage in "periodic mapping" of private networks deemed to be critical, and those companies "shall share" requested information with the federal government. ("Cyber" is defined as anything having to do with the Internet, telecommunications, computers, or computer networks.)
"The language has changed but it doesn't contain any real additional limits," EFF's Tien says. "It simply switches the more direct and obvious language they had originally to the more ambiguous (version)...The designation of what is a critical infrastructure system or network as far as

I can tell has no specific process. There's no provision for any administrative process or review. That's where the problems seem to start. And then you have the amorphous powers that go along with it."
Translation: If your company is deemed "critical," a new set of regulations kick in involving who you can hire, what information you must disclose, and when the government would exercise control over your computers or network.

The Internet Security Alliance's Clinton adds that his group is "supportive of increased federal involvement to enhance cyber security, but we believe that the wrong approach, as embodied in this bill as introduced, will be counterproductive both from an national economic and national secuity perspective."

Welcome to the Fourth Rieck I wonder if your publications will be the next on the chopping block, or wait I bet you would be cool with that too:o

This dude is funny... "I'm a very important person who does very important things.." But seriously, guy, ever heard of a spell checker? there are so many red underlines in your post that even if I wanted to read the whole thing, I couldn't.

Here's a bit of advice for you... When a word ends with the letter E, and you want to add -ing to it, you DROP THE E!

Example: measure becomes measuring, forgive becomes forgiving, and so on.

In the case of words that end in "ie", like LIE, DIE, etc you change the "ie" to a Y.

Example: dying, lying.

Alternatively, you could just click on the spellcheck feature that's BUILT IN TO THE FORUM.

Thank you.

Now, that being said, just because a bill was proposed doesn't mean it's going to become a LAW. Hundreds upon hundreds of bills are introduced in Congress every year, and most of them sit around collecting dust.

So before you start a revolution based on an article from CNET, consider what a "proposed" bill truly is. A proposal, nothing more.

where is this elusive spellchecker you speak of?

also english is my second language since I hail from Jordan, Lebanese and Palistinian blood flows through my viens

Arabic is my first language, the only reason I stated who I be is because my friend jr seemed to want to belittle me and assumed I am some sort of impotent nare-do-well that would get mad at him for stating his accomplishments, and I beg to differ. I respect and am happy to hear about jr accomlishments

clearing ones name is nothing more than that my freind but I do understand your frustration with me as many people here do not like me or are disturbed by me because I speak more truth than lies.

this is the fuel I thrive on because my personlity is one that questions everything and assumes nothing.

if the majority of poeple are all beating the same drum I distrust them greatly and am ready to oppose them at full force if they are wrong in my book

The book of Omens

but for real I would love to use the spell checker hook it up where is it?

I have a weakness when it comes to spelling ever since I was a young arabian child who was lucky enough to come to the land of the free and become a citizen

many of you never had the expiriances of other worlds besides you own.

I for one have no desire to even set foot in the eastern hemisphere ever again.

but thats just me. I love america, I would never want it to change

so to obama I say, "no you cant", until my very last breath.

Since you asked, I feel obligated to help you find the spellchecker.

It's the icon that looks like the letters A, B, and C with a check mark underneath them. It's in the corner of the box where you type your replies.

adieu sir

Well you certainly over do it. So why not not over do it? Seems simply enough, right? Debate in a healthy, appropriate manner. Stop calling liberals pussies and antagonizing. Stop using fallacy to make ridiculous claims. Debate, stop insulting.

Fuck You!!!!!! :finger:
In essence of me responding, you'll get pissed. I understand that. But my response is not an act of defiance. It's a need to explain my point of view.

Someone posted an offensive pic and I asked him to stop, in a not so kind manner. I didn't insult. But based on the fact that you've been watching me, it's clear you've been looking to ban me ever since I called out some elites for bullying the commoners. Why is it that you have it out for me? I absolutely do not insult or antagonize more than many others on here, so why? Honestly. Have I come up over on the elite forum? I'll bet I have...

Big P, kindly disregard the above statement. As well as the critique of your spelling. Neither of the individuals carry any authority in this thread or in this forum. And from reading their posts, it should be quite apparent that a large vocabulary or having access to a "plethora" of 3 dollar words, doesn't give them the ability to forward a sensible argument. We can understand you just fine and plenty of your posts are well thought out and relay your thoughts perfectly.

It's a simple tactic of the left, first you ignore, then you insult, then you attack and so on. If fdd tells you your spelling has to improve or to take your ideas and replies elsewhere, then I'd consider it, if any of the other numbnuts in here do so, just laugh in their face and let them know your posts aren't subject to a letter grade for grammar or spelling. Heck, their posts are well written and articulate and I would still argue they don't have the common sense instilled in a bologna sandwich.

mmm bologna.
