LOL! nice avi karousingthats a good question..Honestly I don't remember why, I read it a while ago.... Keep your pump lower then your bucket and outside the tent. that's what I do and It works.

DAWG and NOOB...you guys got your Bubblehead Certification's right? wasn't that one of the questions on the test? ....its all such a blur to me now...I have too many bouncing trichomes in my brain.

what does the position of the air pump (below or above) have to do with it. i am a newb and this is a genuine question
1)The reason we place the pump outside of the tent is to keep the air cooler. If its inside the tent the heat from the light heats up the pump and said pump will pump out hot air into your res which in turn heats up your water.

2)Actually the air pump should be placed higher than than your res.The reason is if your electricty goes out for any period of time the water from the res could back feed into your pump ruining it.Now like doc said she runs hers lower and so do I.Placement of the pump is not as important as keeping it out of your tent unless you've had water back feed into it ruining it

thanks guys, i bought some cool little things from the aquarium store that is actually made to prevent that, they cost about 1-2$ each.
all you do is cut your tubing between the airstone and pump, insert either end into this little thing and it stops the back pressure or whatever its called. i think it has a spring or magnet that allows air to go from the pump into the airstone but closes when the air pressure is stopped.

i will be moving my pumps outside my tent once i have some more tubing. thanks for the info guys!

Nope none. One is in hydroton, the other is just in Chunky perlite. ><

They both seem healthy and are budding up nicely. Though there is a bit of foam in the res sometimes><

Edit: both are from clones.

IMG_2188.jpgIMG_2189.jpgIMG_2183.jpg These poor things are two weeks behind schedule and have suffered ozone damage. The one on the right did not look like it would make it. These pics are 3-4 days old . Since then they both have received an accidental topping. Im going to start topping them on purpose in the future. Female seeds WW x BB 1000 MH FLORA NOVA BLOOM start to finish. The two real waterfarms have seedlings in them so I figured the knockoffs would do for now. I will post updates periodically but the grow is far from my home so when I get a chance.

IMG_2193.jpgIMG_2194.jpgIMG_2195.jpgIMG_2196.jpgOk these pics are from yesterday (3 days now since the last pics). You may be able to see in the second pic there is duck tape on the main stalk where she was decapitated. The stalk was like a large pipe -hollow in the middle. Without the tape to cap it mold could easily grow all the way down the inside killing the plant with no option to save it. The plant on the right didn't need any tape , the top closed nicely. I have only trimmed minimal amount of the larger more damaged fan leaves due to the stress of the ozone and toppings. Tomorrow I will likely start to systematically take off the majority of the larger fan leaves over the period of 3-4 days. I will allow the under growth to develop to a point before trimming it all away so I can have a few decent sized healthy clones to take from them. Doing it this way will also reduce the amount of stress put on them. Im only worried about the screen filling up so this will be a daily chore for the next week.
