I have a waterbed heater and i was wondering if it would be suitable for heating a plant bed?

I guess I'll plug it in and let everyone else know.
just need to buy and infrared thermometer. Was hoping to avoid yet another purchase.......

didn't need an infrared thermometer to know a waterbed heater gets too hot.
at least my halcyion "solid state" heater did. in the trash it went
