If I am not mistaken, plants make all the sugar they need themselves. Sugar that you put on your cheerios is probably unusable by the plant.

jorge cervantes has stated a few times that using sugar or mollasis in soil grows will add 20% more weight to your buds if used during flowering...ive allso tryd this and not only do i get deceant yields but the smoke is a lot smoother and actualy has a candy taste.

nice I guess I should try it on lets say half my plants and don't do it on the other half and see what the results may be. if good I will def use again on my next years grow.

root and stem growth with sugar sounds good. I no this sounds crazy but has anyone watered there plant with milk, when people try to make big pumpkins they pump the vines ful with milk so i was wondering if anyone ever tried it with marijuana.

Many people use molasses during flowering and some even use applesauce. I plan on using molasses. The applesauce besides adding sugar is slightly acidic so I'd be weary of that.

I have never had much luck with molasses, although many growers vouch for it's effectiveness. It supposedly provides simple sugars and carbs for the plant. I've tried it in DWC and in Hempy Buckets; it tended to end up giving off an unpleasant odor and encouraging root-rot in those conditions. I have never tried it in soil, where it may be more effective- it is said to stimulate certain "good" bacteria in dirt.

so i gave molasses a try the other day... and to give it a good try, i did a dumb thing and went heavy with it... while i had thought about mold and bugs, i had left a couple other thoughts out... this became apparent after i compounded my foolishness of going heavy with a new nute by doing another stupid n00b trick... the catch pan under my pots usually evaporates after a couple hours under the lights, so unless i over water drastically i usually ignore it. anyway, seems sugary water does not evaporate nearly the same as regular old water (go figure)... and it also has another neat trick... it ferments :D

by the time i had realized i turned my grow room into a still, the root ball was already gone.

20 days or so from harvest, that plant was cut down because she was so dead no flushing or transplanting would have saved her in a worthwhile way.

everything we add to our plants has distinct chemical reactions and all new substances should be added slowly and with plenty of time to see how the plant copes in the next few days.

also, sloppiness always causes problems.

for the record, before it died, the buds did get nice and thick from the molasses ;)

thankfully, the smell has left the flower room. :spew:

Also pure apple juice, not concentrate at around 1 cup per gallon or less works instead of applesauce, great for added phosphorus during flowering

i know the posts and thread are old but it's just advice for future

don't use table sugar use 100% pure cane sugar table sugar can clog the intake on the roots use 1 1/2 tablespoon of cane sugar to a ratio of 1 gallon water i haven't used molasses yet so idk how that works yet but 1 1/2 tablespoons is perfect

I have a buddy who worked at advance nutrients, AN Carbo Load sells for quite a bit, its literally distilled water and 2 different types of sweeteners derived from sugar, both sell for about 10 bucks for 10 kilos, they mix it with water and sell for like $20 a liter.
