Should I water my plants prior to putting them in the 2 days of darkness prior to flowering? Or should I leave them bone dry?

Two points:
plants don't typically transpire in darkness
nowhere on earth does it go completely dark for two days straight in the fall
do what you want obviously but there is simply no reason to try to "trick" your plants. Yeah, lots of flowering hormones will be present, but as soon as you go back to 12/12 the levels will return to normal.
No need to scream at your plants to flower when simply asking them will do the trick. Two days out of 60 is nothing. Whose to say that the sudden drop in hormone levels won't signal them to slow down flowering? I would however adjust your light cycle down towards the end

You're attemping to mimic the changing of the seasons, it takes a couple of weeks regardless if you give it huge blocks of darkness. Unless you're going from a 24/0 veg and you have a picky strain (Sativa doms act weird sometimes under 24/0) there is no reason to deprive it of light any more than you have to for inducing flowering. I've had a couple different Sativas that didn't like being under 24/0 as opposed to being given some rest time. It's bred out of most hybrids so you won't hit this problem if you're growing with named genetics. It's a rare problem, I only recognize the symptoms from growing other things that have light issues.

Only strains that grow in the arctic circle enjoy 24 hours of light. I grew the polar bear strain once. 24 hours of light and then put it a dark cave for 2 months. Fucking awesome buds!!

Regardless of what everyone chooses to believe I have ensured results by leaving my moms on twenty four seven lighting. Clones get twenty four hour lighting as well. I put my clones directly from 24 hour to budding as soon as they are rooted. I only know of one other op in the area that produces clones and they are the same as I am with the lighting. If you think otherwise your only thinking as I only report proven facts.

I used to leave my mother plants and clones under 24 hours too but then switched to 18/6 and still had the same results. Clones rooted in the same amount of time and growth rate was the same. Only difference is saving 6 hours of electricity. I still root my clones under 24hours and that's just because of the weather. It gets really cold when the lights go out and I rather have my t5's on then a heater.

The idea of keeping clones under 24/0 is for stopping fungal growth. Darkness lets mold grow so by keeping your lights on, it keeps the mold back. Before someone jumps in here and tells me artificial lights won't do it -they need to try to grow moss under their lights and then talk.

More light = more heat, which raises the humidity and therefore makes mold more likely to form.

Uhhhhhh, you guys are really off on this....Light does not raise your humidity and if you're keeping your lights on to fight mold, then you really need to re-evaluate things. Mold shouldn't be an issue for you to have to leave your lights on for 24 hours to fight them or hold them back...

Cannabis needs 18 hours of light to stay in the vegetative stage....A lot of people leave the lights on 24 hours for different reasons....I do it to create heat and not have to use a heater...most people do it to get them vegging faster....I won't go into that but I will say that 99% of the people don't do it to hold back mold....
As for light raising your humidity, that's just ridiculous....Light does not raise your humidity....When your lights go on, heat is created and the air is able to hold more humidity....when the lights go off, your humidity level rise. Check your humidity levels when the lights are on and again when your lights are off....Then you'll see the difference

I was actually just trying to point out his irrationality, although for my particular setup what I said was correct.
My girls are at 60F day and night, which is easy because lights are on during night and off during the daytime.
Ventilation runs 24/7, so the humidity gets slightly higher when lights are on because the nighttime air is more humid.

There is no logical reason to go with anything other than 24hr light for clones and veg cycle, other than saving electricity, then 18 hrs is recommended. I can see no reason whatsoever to go with a 48 hrs dark period to kick off flowering and see it as most likely detrimental. 24hr to 12hr is the way to go.
As far as mold... Come on guys... Humidity, air circulation, and spacing!!!

How about it not making a difference if it's 18 or 24 hours, the plant still stays in veg? How about the plant only being able to process 18 hours of light a day and the other 6 is wasted? How about there not being any difference in growth between 18 and 24? How about the plant getting a chance to rest during that 6 hour of darkness which promotes a more healthy overall plant?
Out of curiosity, what are your logical reasons for leaving them under 24 hours of light?
