I want to see pics of this water cured bud. Water curing ruins the taste/smell/bag appeal of green. I know first hand.
It depends what you start with, I have had great success with water curing. You cant make a judgement based on two experiences.

2 experiences but who's counting...
So Shamegame you give -rep points for different opinions, how pathetic, you obviously have had bad experiences otherwise you wouldnt say so. I, on the other hand, have had good experiences which Is why I posted the way i did. Just so everyone knows Shamegame gave me -4 rep points for my opinion! Lol, beware and dont have an opinion!

well i have had bud that was delicious after water curing and other strains that tasted like shit.. One strain i had, nebula, was THE most delicious smelling and tasting bud i had that i air cured.. i tried water curing it and it turned out like shit and tatsed and looked bad

on the other hand i have had regular bag seed that was poor quality after air cure but tasted better and smoother after water curing

its all your OWN opinion, i would water cure again, just in small quanities though

What would you do if you had spider mites on your entire grow?

i didnt like water curing too much, but in your case i see your reasoning... i enjoy the smell of weed and the taste, water curing kinda "cleans" that all out... its a very different smoke, but yeah, just like you, i got huge cotton mouth.. and another great benefit to water curing, is i could walk down the street smoking a joiny and you could never smell the distinct smell of weed. kinda stealthy ;)

Here's a question that I've been wondering. If it's legal to smoke medical marijuana in California, how come you never see people walking around smoking?

all i can say is that im down to give this method a go told my m8 i grow with about it he kind of turned his nose up at it but i sure with a lil mor explaining he will be willing to give it a go. i definatly see what people are getting at about tate smell etc but all that means to me is i wont do it with all my bud. i cant wait io smoke a j at work and knowone know haha and when im out in town etc. cant wait till april to give this a go. 1 question do you definatly recomend a dehydrater or will back of t.v or oven do the job?

a dehydrator is ok at best, just set the temp as low as it goes for about 5 hours... i personally like hanging it for 5 days then jar it for 2-3 weeks...

I've got a big batch that I will be harvesting in a few weeks. Four different strains. I'll water cure and air dry each of them and try different drying techniques. I'm open to suggestions.

A French Press coffee maker is a good container for holding down small amounts of bud for water curing. You can also watch your buds turn to mush through the glass. ;)

If you find that the heat from your dehydrator is damaging your buds you can take it apart and clip out the heating element and very likely not burn your house down while you sleep. My house has been fine, I suggest consulting someone more knowledgeable about electronics than I before making changes to your dehydrator. I like it a lot better - takes longer to dry the buds but the trichs are less damaged when looked at under a scope.

What type of containers and screens to hold down are you guys using? I've been thinking out using 3 or 5 gallon buckets grow buckets with 12" round cooking screens to hold the bud down, or maybe some type of cooking strainer that fits in a large pot - stainer upside down.

I started water curing small amounts about a month ago, I find:

1. It's easier, and quicker, to get a great high water curing than air curing.
2. I vap with a volcano - I have to change bags much less often and the mist is much, much smother.
3. I don't care about taste with the strains I'm growing now but I have Strawberry Cough, Blueberry, Bubble Gum and Red Diesel on the way and I do plan on tasting that stuff. Alway's had trouble with air curing for some reason, but I will perfect it.

Right now I care more about a great high than great taste, I find it easier to get a great high with water curing.
