water cure pound and a half finished weight

I just finished a water cure. It was 7 OG Kush plants. I had a few problems with spider mites and wasn't happy with the job the soapy water was doing so I researched it and decided to do a water cure. I thought if there were any of those little critters in there, I didn't want to smoke them and I liked the idea of smoking less because it's more potent. I used tap water because I liked the idea of the chlorine being in there. I did it for 7 days and changed the water everyday. Then I made a drying room and hung them with a heater on low. Took about 24 hours. I ended up with a little more than a pound and a half. I think it smells killer and it's super stoney bud. I've noticed one thing though. I get cotton mouth like a mother! I haven't had that for years!

haha thats awsome.

but doest water cureing take alot of the trics off the buds?

i mean thats how they make hash but they just grind up the buds in the water insted of soaking them.

no the trics are not water soluble. It takes, heat or alcohol to get them out. I checked out my finished buds with my microscope to be sure and they were still there.

I'll take pictures with my microscope later today. I wish I would have weighed it before it was done. I didn't expect such a high yield. I feel really good about it. Clean potent tasty weed. And it's a lot faster in the curing process. Changing the water everyday was a hassle but I really really didn't want to smoke any of those little white spidies!

I want to see pics of this water cured bud. Water curing ruins the taste/smell/bag appeal of green. I know first hand.

I just did some water cured bud too. Only about 2 ounces. It came out very nice. But for some people it won't work because they want the smell. I like it becuase the smoke is VERY smooth.:joint:

I think the smell is very nice and the color on the hairs is much more pronounced. Yes it looks different because of the smaller amount of chlorophyll left and that's why it's more potent. I think if you're growing for yourself, this is a good option. If you're into quantity, maybe not but in my mind, the jury is out on that.

I always water cure a small portion of my harvest. No it is not something i would try to sell because yes it does decrease the smell and bag appeal. The smoke is just for me and my Volcano. It is usually smooth and a little more potent than long cure. I then have something to hold me till my other buds are ready to smoke. Just my $0.02.

How The Hell Did You Ge A Pound And A Half From Only 5 Kush Plants?? Is That The Weight Before You Cured??? Im Confused, Unless You Grow Outdoor

I have no idea. I think it would have been less if I air cured them but I don't know for sure. Next time I'm going to do half and half and weigh them before and after. I kind of grow indoors and out. I have a hps and mh light on them and a big window with an ocean view and breeze. They get direct sunlight from around 2-7 everyday as well.

I've tried and I can't get a good shot of the tricomes but believe me they are there. I'll get a scope with a camera for the next experiment. The amber color of the hairs is more intense with the water cure I think.

I can't tell from the picture if that is water cured or not. Usually with water curing the buds some out more compact and/or flat, those look fluffy and air cured.

This is only my second harvest in my career as a grower. My buds tend to be fluffier and I'm not sure why. The buds you see are water cured and more compact than the previous harvest now that you mention it.
