Jiffjack, you may be my new best friend on here 
They also have those handydandy blackhole bags, pretty sure that's what they are called not 100% though. Ive seen them on a few sites that also sell cellphone jammers for "classrooms"

Just turn the GPS off.
The ONLY way it can be remotely turned on is if someone gets your phone for 5 minutes or less and drops one of these "Parent tracking" programs on it.

Such as :

Flexispy or Mobile-spy
Two of the best in the game right now.
Once the app is downloaded, it doesn't show up as running in ANY task manager app !!
The name of the app can even be altered or hidden.

You can read ALL text, both incoming and outgoing !
Get emails notification on about emails, calls, text, voice calls, etc.. or have them sent to your email for viewing.
Turn on THEIR GPS and track them. Even in real time !
Listen to their LIVE phone calls remotely, or have the program record them and listen when YOU have the time !

Shit is real !
I put Flexispy on my 14yr old daughters phone.
Bought a 1yr plan and she nor her Mom ever new about it.

Corporate America uses the shit right now on company phones.
They're listening, looking and watching all you do while carrying their phone.
Especially if you drive a company truck, van or car.
UPS has done this to their drivers, WITH their knowledge, for years.
Their success is due to GPS tracking.
It TELLS the UPS drivers what route to take to deliver their packages efficiently, AND it changes throughout the work day too.
UPS GPS is SO crazy, when it maps the drivers routes it makes sure they only make RIGHT turns the whole time unless in a residential place and CANNOT be avoided !!!!

Time to wake the fuck up people !!!!

Flo, that's not the ONLY way it can be remotely activated.
Cops have been doing it for years, hell even if your phone is turned off, battery is still in btw, they can turn on your mic and listen to what's going on around you.

Your phone is like a radio, it is always communicating with a satelite. They are programed to do it constantly.
Im not sure about removing the battery. ever notice when you are out of range and you plug your phone back in, it still knows the correct time? How is that. Much be storing small amounts of energy in an internal source.
I think if I was doing something that big and the grow was that legit.
I WOULD BUY A FREAKING PREPAID THROW AWAY PHONE. SOME PEOPLE ARE PARANOID!

the satellite has the clock on it...why would it forget what time it was because you killed your phone?
but yeah, i get what you mean...hell, chips these days can draw the power they need from just the signal beaming to it and asking it questions

faraday cages are cheap and easy to build and fit into a tiny bag to keep your phone in...
I'll be damned if i'm growing outdoors and a bear decides to wander by or my dumb ass ends up twisted at the bottom of a trail without my phone.

they can find you even it your phone is off. You must take out all power aka battery. There was a mob in new York that they pulled this on

Guys, you're pot growers, not Osama Bin Laden. Spend less time fucking with your cell phone and more time installing more carbon filters. Don't forget the dissinformation to all of your buyers. "the guy I get this from..." Remember, you don't grow. You're just a broker. There's a huge psychological difference between a broker and a grower. People are all proud to know a good grower...they could care less about some broker. Be the broker.

Prepaid cells don't work either, as in letting you hide from them.
Ever see THE WIRE !? lmao
They don't/can't activate your GPS.
YOU have to turn it on or off from the phone DIRECTLY, UNLESS an app/program was PREVIOUSLY installed to do so remotely.
If you don't have GPS on your phone (not all phones are smart phones), all they can do is ping (triangulate) your cell phones signal when your USING IT.
They found non-Japanese citizens in Japan because they left their GPS on.
A lot of phone apps require you to turn it on or leave it on.

Once the battery is removed, there's not enough left over "juice" to do anything, let alone pull a GPS signal from space !!!! ROFLMFAO
Over-the-top paranoia is another way to just snitch on yourself !!

If your that paranoid that it bothers you, why not buy a pre-pay and not register your real details on it?

EDIT: And even if you pull the main battery, there is tiny batteries inside the phone too, and capacitors...like a clock battery in a pc.

Turning off most phones nowadays just puts them into power-saving mode. It doesn't actually shut them off. If you're paranoid, leave the phone at home.

I'd be less worried about getting tracked at your site and more worried about the guys who accidentally upload images of their grows with the gps info in the exif data of the image. I scrub images with batchpurifier because I am paranoid.

while i agree the guy is paranoid, he's not dillusional. newsflash. phones from 10 years ago with no gps at all can be triangulated just because the battery is active and/or call history and location can be tracked. depending on the density of towers they can narrow a location to within a few blocks. this is not new. also, legal issues aside, ANY device on a network can be hacked by ANYONE with the knowlege and skill. how many people do you know with virus scanners on their smartphones? how many of these people download apps like it's oxygen? turning the phone off should be enough unless there is something previously planted on your device that would allow you to power it on remotely. not out of the question, by the way, just unlikely in most places. paranoid and careful are sister words if you ask me.

if you study the patriot act.... government entities can do basically anything they want, and that is a fact. I took a class back in high school school and we actually read the patriot act. I am also a bank manager and I am very, very, very, familiar with monetary regulations. the patriot act is tied into everything, and I mean everything.

I'm not saying leave your phone at home, but smartphones can be tracked by GPS even by the phone company simply to locate a lost phone. I would not suggest loading pictures from an iphone/smartphone. Also, your ignorant if you dont think that keywords in a conversation over the phone dont initiate tapping.
Luckily I live in Canada so its not as bad, yet if Stephen (pro-war, pro GMO, anti marijuana) Harper stays in power we're fucked also... we go to the polls soon!)

I am mostly raising this concern for the sake of you guys out there who are bigger and better at growing than I am, I am just a small young gun who wants some personal stash, if the go'vt wants to hike as far as I do to get to my weed I think they will have to lay off the donuts for a few months to get the strength to do so (no heli access)
