Alot of you probably already aware of this problem, But for those of you who dont, Growing outdoor. Watch out for SLUGS. 5 or six of these can devour most of your plant in a day. Seriously, I know of 3 people this Year that have had this Problem and lost good plants. So it might Be a good Idea to keep this in mind And take extra Precautions.!!! The best way i know of is Nicotine, Or copper Wiring, This can all be Found in the grow Log. Just tryin to be Helpful! Slugs are a disaster for a pot plant and there seem to be ALOT of them this year. Good luck And good Growing everyone!!

You take it and wrap it nice and good around the stalk, it gives out an electrical current that we cant feel, But the slugs can and they'll stay away. Lol, this is like my very own public service announcement

Im not to sure, I'd imagine Slugs arent the only Pests that can feel it though. If you wanna learn more look in the grow Faq, or Google it!

sprinkling slug and snail bait works the best. sprinkle a ten foot circle around your garden and they won't get anywhere near it.

wrap my plant in copper wire no sir! as for the bait fdd how often to you have to reapply it?
i throw it down once a year when i first put my plants out. if it doesn't get rained on it lasts a few weeks. long enough for the plants to get big enough not to be bothered by slugs and snails anymore. :blsmoke:

you can use tinfoil also ,, wrap that around the stalk base & it stops anything that crawls from crawling up ur babies ,, i use it every year ... i know copper can kill stuff ,, i remember about 3 or 4 years ago my uncle hammered a copper nail into a tree .. just a few weeks ago he removed it easily , it was dead as hell

But, the copper wouldnt actually be getting into the Plant. FDD's Idea is much better. Copper wire and Homemade mixes like i use are good if your short on Cash like me. But hopefully this thread will help someone, If it saves someones plant, it would've definatley been worth it.

And, no matter what size your plant is the slugs can still do harm. But, the bigger your plant is Your chances of it getting destroyed get alot less. Chances are the slugs will only eat a few leaves. But. Who the hell wants that.
