Wanna do an outdoor grow.................?

Hey dudes, I'm new to growing! a few questions

What is an amazing outdoor strain to grow?

I am on the east coast in maryland, would it be okay to start growing soon even though it's already october or should I wait. I want a plan at least even if I don't get anything started.

In your experience what strain yields the most?

What should I use to keep pests away from the plant.

and is there anything else I should know haha..

your plant will have no chance of surviving the winter. you have to wait until the last frost then plant for the summer...

Hey joejoe! Yea winter is coming soon and the plants will die. I live in MD too! May is the best time to plant!

Start your seeds on 4/20 start them under cfls or a month then put them outside in may. Put the plant outside during the day and inside at night so it can get use to the temp. do this and you are garented atleast a ounce.

It is now FALL.

Why do you think it is called FALL????

Beacuse plants have stopped growing for the year - they will start to sprout again in the SPRING.

Plant your outdoor seeds then.

Any Indica dominant strain is good for the east coast. Most of the east coast has a short growing season unless you live in Florida, so I would suggest an Indica dominant strain. Sativas take way too long to flower and their flowering period is much longer and they wont fully mature before the first frost (speaking from personal experiences). The east coast also tends to receive a good bit of rain and humidity during September and October. This will cause bud rot and mold during flowering, so I would also suggest looking for a strain that is more resistant to mold and bud rot.

As for yield, most websites that sell seeds give you an estimate, but it really all depends on how you grow it (soil, nutrients, sunlight).

You have 6 months to think out and plan everything so you have plenty of time. Just start reading as much information as possible and getting everything ready.

They even have a "Outdoor Strain" section, just make sure you don't get Sativas that are made to be grown "Outdoors" but in a Tropical climate. The site also gives good descriptions and specific info about each strain. Some strains that are produce by major companies like "Green House Co" have their own website that can give you even deeper and more information about each specific strain they sell.

For MD, you have a fairly cool climate even in summer, try out something like Himalayan Gold, or anything purple, the cool nights toward the end of your harvest peroid with give you deep dank purple buds.

read what Dizz1e said, thats good advice.

one particular bug you should look out for is spider mites. for them use a drop of neem oil (which you can find pretty easily) in a spray bottle of cold water and a little splash of soap, and shake it up and spray your plants down in the morning (under the leaves too, thats where the mites love to be) and do that a few times a week. I think it works to repel other bugs too but i'm not sure
if your growing some where wild animals to get to your shit, put chicken wire around it, maybe some dog fur or piss if you have one, piss around the plant too haha

I live around the same spot as you. I start my plants inside for about 2 weeks the last week of april then bout the 2nd week of may id plant them outdoors after the last frosts. Find a place outdoors that u think no one would bother go to preferably deep in the forest. Remember to plant where its open, grassland is the best, where it is a bit marshy. If you dont and u plant where theres a bunch of trees overhead ull greatly reduce ur yield. make a littlefence around the plants with chicken coop, fishing line keeps deers away, fertilize plants every couple weeks, pee round ur site and cut ur pubes off and sprinkle them around ur site too. Last but not least be patient.

Awesome good info thanks a lot ill do that, this pissing thing is really popular HAHA. I have a place I am thinking about! thinking about lowryders since they are good for new people. !

Thanks so much yeah I have been checking out that seed bank as well it's good I have been trying to read up as much as possible thanks a lot of the heads of on sativas!!! your the man. What's a soild and nutrient you would recommend??

Don't piss directly on, or too close to the plant. Piss has urea in it which is made up of two Nitrogens a Carbon and an Oxygen. Those two N's are going to severly overload your plant.

if there are wild animals you would want a strong smelling soap to cut up into thin slices and put them around your plants

If i were you i would get some seeds you now will grow some boom as weed get some alaskan thunderfuck or sweet purple or northern lights you cant go wrong with those 3 strains early finishers and easy to grow.. gl and happy harvesting!!

Where does one get alaskan thunderfuck on the eastcoast? I thought it was hard enough to find it on the west coast..
