Dank ...

The fact that someone owes back taxes doesn't mean they are guilty of tax evasion. It just means that they can't afford to pay their tax bill for the time being. The government makes allowances for that ... but they charge penalties and interest on the amount due. Now, on then other hand, if someone omits income from their tax returns knowing full well that they owe taxes on it, then that is tax evasion. Of course, there are those who feel, in view of the condition of the federal government today, that evading taxes is a patriotic duty. Joe Biden would disagree of course.

Maybe because the government is shitting on the trades in favour of "big building firms" simply because they pay the big taxes. Another example of greed fueling greed

yet...yet...the trades are more important in a FUNCTIONING society.

Have you read the book WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS? If so, you'll find a lot of answers about how the Republian party has been able to get the "little people" to vote against their own best interests. It's definitely worth a read.

I am COMPLETELY against the war.
Me too. I am also against the rich. Thery have had it way too kushy for way too long. I think a turnabout would be fair play. I could live in one of those mansions along the coast and that asshole could move into my shack, fair deal, But, he'd have to pay the property taxes, I couldn't afford that. ~LOL~.

I've been a fan of Thomas Frank since The Baffler #6.

Commodify Your Dissent: Salvos from the Baffler is a great read too.

Joe the Plumber represents everything that is wrong with the McCain campaign. The transparently phoney popularism, the fact that the guy would get a tax break under Obama's tax plan but not under McCain's. Another "Jeez, WTF was he thinking?!" moment for McCain.

Just wanted to comment on your cool new avatar. I suspect that we'll be seeing a lot of those around if Barak is elected.

Meh, let them be rich,, but don't let them buy a better quality of life.

When they die all that money and all those material items mean nothing.

Good for them, they want to lead a pathetic, unfufilled, meaningless life. Thats their choice. But dont let them have a better quality of life.

Every human who is capable of working and contributing to society should and if they do then they deserve the same quality as any other capable working human
