Chilled grow lights claim to be made, built and patented in the USA.. Anyone know better about their claim? I know id love to use their lights but don't have a space or experience level that would allow for their potential to truly shine.

Us growers today have it so easy. Growing up the cutting edge was T8's and hps/mh most people who grew built custom reflectors from the lights they bought at the local hardware store. Now we have so many choices and prices from hella cheap to freaking crazy expensive. I like reading the DIY threads, it always impresses me what people can build out of screw in LED's and a little creativity, some of their plants are pretty freaking amazing.

Maybe go around your house and toss out every single thing that was made in China, then let's see if you still feel the same way..

The days of "made in usa" or even "made in canada" are becoming extinct.

I cant find a single thing in my grow room that wasnt affiliated with china, even down to the smart plugs..

Do I hate China made products, No, am I going to spend extra money to make my ego feel better, not a chance.

I'll take all your made in China, it will fit right in with the rest of the stuff.
Chinese made and so happy with it I'm replying here:

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME light that's blown my mind. Their comparable Blurple light was decent at best, but these are so good I bought an extra. No ventilation in my closet, just a fan running up by the drivers and I got HID quality bud.

Neither. I'd wait until Friday when HLG's 25% off sitewide sale starts. It ends Monday. HLG assembles a lot of boards here in the US. The diodes are not from China either like a lot of people seem to think.

The diodes aren't from the US, sorry but there is no way that Samsung, a korean company, are going to start a whole production inside the US for one OEM. Those diodes come from Asia somewhere.

Most still from china, like Viparspectra led is use Samgsung diodes.
I bought the exact same components used by Mars Hydro and had a mate assemble them. The exact same boards, diodes, cowls and drivers. I could have had them etched with Mars Hydro logos if I wanted to. Regardless of what people want to believe all of this stuff is made in China. Companies like HLG might assemble them in the US using US made frames, chassis and fixings, but the electronic components are all Chinese. What US companies can offer that the Chinese don't is decent warranties and after sales support, that is what you are paying for.

Looking it seems the company formerly know as Cree may have manufacturing in the USA They started was back in 87. Name has been changed and like most other one time USA manufacturing companies most production has been moved overseas to help enable competitive market share.
agree.
