Ventilation Help Needed!

Filter to fan to cooltube exhausting out? Or filter to cooltube to fan sucking the air out.

I have it filter/fan/cooltube for 2 reasons.

1) I feel it ensures full suction from the carbon filter.
2) If my bulb pops my fan doesnt chew up the broken glass.

I know it makes more sense to suck the air out then to blow it out but I want to ensure proper odour removal and filter suction

My tent is very small at 2'x3'x5' and I am throwing up a 600watt so I need to ensure proper temps are reached, that its not too hot. I was going to keep it the way it is with filter/fan/cooltube and just use a little 4" duct fan for cold intake from my window. Do you think this will work?

I have also thought about running a seperate ventilation system for my cooltube. Id run cold intake with a duct fan from my window running through the cooltube. My exhaust fan/filter would be seperate exhausting out of the top of the tent. On the outside of the tent i would connect the cooltube exhaust and the tent/filter exhaust so that all hot air would come out of one port rather then it exhausting my cooltube and my tent at 2 seperate ports.

THANKS GUYS!! CHEERS!

im not sure if your asking for info or not??? lol, but I allways go filter/fan before the light as it is better to push air over a hot lamp then to suck hot air into your fan, so your spot on there, but if you can then do the lights seperatly it helps even more with temps etc, and allows the exhaust fan to not do so much work, ie you can turn it down, either way your spot on

you need to suck/extract the air if you only have 1 fan
if you push the air, you will cool the light but you will not be bringing in enough fresh air into the space

you need to extract air from the space to create negative pressure
this negative pressure inside the tent causes the air outside the tent to rush inside
this helps to stop air leaking out of the tent which also helps control smell
blowing air through the light will not help with this ^^

if you are ok with using 2 fans
you can use 1 fan to push cold air through the cool tube and straight out of the grow space
this will cool the light well and will not put heat in direct contact with the fan
also this will not need a carbon filter, it will create positive pressure in the cool tube
and ducting

a separate fan can be used to suck air from the space through a carbon filter
this will help control smell and create negative pressure and bring in fresh
air from outside the tent through a passive inlet in the tent

Exactly what I wanted to hear thank you! Thats a great way to explain it in being an additional reason: "it is better to push air over a hot lamp then to suck hot air into your fan".

skunkd0c I agree with everything you have said as well just this part here I think you didnt understand, cuz I am still sucking the air out of the tent through the filter

The pic is how i have it now and is the "first option", but i agree with both of you that i should do the second option. I will try the first option out and just add cold intake and see how the temps are. No matter what the cold intake will be on the same timer as the light so i dont make the plants to cold, or option 2 make my bulb to cold before it turns on.. and of course for general power consumption.

******The fan/filter will be placed up higher. The ducting size will be changed****, i used what I had being 6", proper 4" is on the way. I will create a 4 inch to 6 inch "increaser/reducer" from some scrap 6" ducting, but u the get the jist of the idea. Then i will just attach some 4" ducting to a 4" booster fan and place it close to my window, attach the other end to the free flow flap at the bottom of the tent so its not so direct (also there is no port hole at the bottom of the tent, just free flow flaps so whatever, it works).

if i need to do option 2 then ive explained that in my original first post.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! If you guys ever need some opinions lemme know im not a newb just always second guess myself so doesnt hurt to ask :)
