Ventilation and Smell

In hopes of having more room I may use my closet to grow. The only problem is that it does not have a door just a long light blocking curtain. Would slightly moving the curtain to the side to bring the duct through negate the carbon filter? The window is literally right next to the curtain. My main concern is that the smell will come through.

Do you think the odor would permeate on the curtain, compared to panda film or something? You would have to open it every now and then, so there'd be odor escaping then.

But for your concern, wouldn't a flange work? Cut a hole in the curtain/panda film and put the duct through the flange.

Go buy a used door, and fit your inlet (door bottom)and outlet, at the door top to improve venting, google carbon filter pillow diy.
